I know, I know...vanity!
I just heard about this show last night on O'Reilly. Steven Bochco promised a show with no politics that accurately covers what's going on in Iraq. The clips I've seen have looked great!

Watched the first 10 minutes and turned it off.
I'm not surprised at all.
I saw Bochco on O'Reilly last night. He waffled just a little when O'Reilly asked him whether he would get angry at Bochco during the show. That Bochco waffling told me everything I needed to know about the show.

I've seen the previews, and seen the previews, and seen the previews. Soldiers don't talk like that in real life. It seemed a little TOO dramatic to me. I'm gonna pass.

And now we have Hollywood's imagined race-war rhetoric from the 1960's rehashed and back on the screen. This is their agenda on the War on Terrorism dramatized and put on-screen. At least Vic Morrow's "Combat" was shown as entertainment 20 years after the war it portrayed.

I watched enough to know i'll never watch it again
I'm now planning a lawsuit against FX network for defrauding me with promises of entertainment and for stealing 17 minutes of my time....
have a good night all!

This is the way Bochco thinks GI's talk...this is almost laughable....

For someone that watches almost no TV you sure are an expert on what's showing.
It's a gift.

Oh I'm sure it will be a balanced look at our honorable soldiers with no full-frontal swipes at GWB.
Yeah, I'm sure it will be a "support the troops" epic, showing all their bravery and ability in the face of scumbag enemies who have no concern for their families or themselves!
(NOT!!!!!!!)

Was Francis on the show?

Mea culpa. Shoulda added the /Sarcasm tag at the end.
I left as an 0-3 after five myself. I can't begin to explain how much it p***** me off that Hollywood always portrays officers as incompetent idiots who are riding the corpses of their troops to medals and promotions.

What do you expect from all the FR'ers that fawn over "21"
To: MikeinIraq
Ok TV is not for conservative unless we demand that there be conservative shows. Think about the ratings of Fox the same would happen if people got out there and made conservative TV shows the ratings would be through the roof.

"Almost none" is not "none". And that movie is pretty old (as am I)!

The on-going Iraq war as television entertainment-for-profit. Pathetic.I agree! I will NOT dishonor our troops and the memory of our fallen by watching this program no matter how well intentioned it may be.
We are at WAR and there is a time for everything and a ficitonal account of an ONGOING WAR leaves this Vet cold.

So far pretty lame and it has nothing to do with liberal politics.
It has more to do with hollywood not having a clue about the military and the people in it.
