I know, I know...vanity!
I just heard about this show last night on O'Reilly. Steven Bochco promised a show with no politics that accurately covers what's going on in Iraq. The clips I've seen have looked great!

The on-going Iraq war as television entertainment-for-profit. Pathetic.

I'm TIVOing it for later tonight.
I'll judge for myself whether it sucks. I generally put little faith in the opinions of people who haven't seen a show.
FX has a great record in my book. If this one sucks, I'll turn it off.

Is this by the same producer as The Shield?
To: Half Vast Conspiracy
Why would you want to watch profit-driven made-up stories about made-up soldiers when real soldiers are fighting for us right now (and, in my view, not being paid enough for the heroic work they're doing)? As if Bochco needed another buck or two! The idea itself is repugnant.
To: Larry Lucido
Is this by the same producer as The Shield?Don't know. Bochco created LA Law & NYPD Blue.

The Rangers at Fort Lewis got to preview this, and they said
they were portayed as murderers who fall apart in battle.
One scene has a GI saying he slit the throat of a child.
How's that sound!

There were tons of combat movies made during WWII. Also, The Green Berets was made while troops were still dying in Vietnam.
