"Bush gives no such reasons to be hated, but they do anyway."
I beg to differ. A spoilt rich kid in business with the bin Ladens, a liar and a footrest for Vincente Fox. He's more open borders than Clinton was.
And what were the reasons to hate Clinton? His infidelity and bad taste in women? Newt Gingrich did something 100 times more morally reprehensible, yet is still revered by the "moral majority." That shows me that republicans do not take morality seriously if they aren't willing to kick this reprehensible cad to the curb.
FOC still proudly independent.
Posts left up for posterity.
-OR- somebody could make a documentary of this hillarious boon...
Should be quite funny.. Comeing out AGAINST an "I LOVE AMERICA" event.. man this could play real well in a hundred venues.. especially IF the democrat party is made to wear this as a HAT.. especially in 2006 and 2008..
Opportunity is KNOCKING... can you hear it?
ROTFLOL! They're good for a laugh. Thanks.
And does your personal life style reflect all of the above? Just curious.
Sad isn't it?
"That's because only neo-cons use patriotism to promote war and liken love of country with war. At least democrats don't use our troops (human beings) as human shields against criticism of their admin's policies. "
Looks like you got the name calling part of your twisted logic indoctrination down.
"I love America and I took to the streets to protest the war against the Serbs. I'd do it again too."
Why dod you leave the streets? We're still there?
"The keyword "brownshirtsforkerry" remains."
When I entered this in the Search line of the News/Activism site, I got no articles found. Perhaps I do not know how to use key words.
Not sure how to initiate a keyword search.
You can click ON a keyword to search that keyword. You can even do a cut and paste over that with a new keyword

"You can click ON a keyword to search that keyword."
I'm an old, pre-computer age guy. I do not know where or how to find the keywords so I could click on one.
So do I. All too well.
They love our beloved nation as much anyone.
Basted on what exactly. Whether you support the war or not it is not patriotic to protest in the streets while our troops stand in harms way. Whether you like the fact or not, it encourages our enemies and provides them add and comfort. Actions have consequences and these actions demoralize the troops and the American public and that is exactly what they hope to achieve. They want us not only to leave Iraq, they want us to fail and be humiliated in the process. That is not an expression of love of country.
They have an opposite point of view regarding those running our government.
Then they should protest the government and not other Americans expressing their love of country. Actually they should stop protesting and work through the democratic process and elect leader who support their warped ideology.
Just think about how you felt about the clintons, that is how this bunch feels about bush.
I did not like Clinton but I recognized he was not the embodiment of the nation. I did not like his polices (except welfare reform) but I would not undermine the nation or our troops because of them.
I would wager that many, if not most of the people who feel the need to "protest" love this land as much as you or I.
Perhaps you dont get out much or read or listen what they write and say on a daily basis. It has been my experience they believe that this is a raciest, homophobic, capitalists, imperialist, warmongering country lead by niocons and Zionists, that least that what they have stated on countless occasions.
Tell me do you also believe that Islam is a religion of peace?
Ok so their 2 and a-half listeners will be there. So what. They drool and soil themselves in public. They are pathetic mutants.
Honestly, I don't pay that much attention in general. I would agree that there are many ignorant blow hards who are more than willing to call names and throw fits. But, it is important to consider that there are ignorant blow hards on both sides of this issue.
(I pay little attention to those folks as well)
I do however listen when those whom I care about express their points of view, even if they do not match word for word with my own.
I believe that as a divided (right vs. left) country we are weak. I also believe that there are an awful lot of folks who want nothing more than to keep us divided.
Tell me do you also believe that Islam is a religion of peace?
I don't believe that this is a sincere question.
I will, however give you a sincere answer.
No, I don't believe that islam is a religion of peace.
I also have very close liberal friends and greatly enjoy debating issues with them. They love the country and support the troops and can muster fairly good argument in support of their positions. However they are a distinctly differently breed from your average liberal antiwar protester.
If you hang around FR you will see countless billboards, banners and posters carried by these anti American protesting groupies.
I cant post pictures but there is a telling one posted here many time showing protesters carrying a large sign that says, We support the Troops, when they kill their officers. There are countless others that pretty much sums up their love of country.
I can't debate liberals. They always seem to run away...
---"If you hang around FR you will see countless billboards, banners and posters carried by these anti American protesting groupies."---
The problem is that it's not even limited to fringe groups. There's almost always a major player in the Democratic Party present at the vile (non-civil) protesting that goes on where such signs are prevalent. Heck, look at the recent impeachment audition with John Conyers and the "hang 'em high" gang. "Damn those Jews," etc.
The key point here is that nobody coming out to protest a "Pro-America Rally" can claim to be patriotic. They can protest Bush, the GOP, etc. just fine.
I am one who tends to find an animosity toward America from the overwhelming majority of the left these days, not a disgruntled patriotism. You will seldom hear the left tell you how great a country America is; the few times you do hear it, you will also hear, "but...."
Liberals tend to love a potential America - one where liberal values reign supreme. I am personally unaware of many liberals who love America as it currently is. Part of the motivation of being "from the left" is to detract from traditional values and policies toward "progressive" values and policies. It is, by definition, hostile toward America as it currently is and previously was - not proud or embracing.
It is a blanket statement, but I believe it is remarkably accurate to suggest that the left in this country is lacking in patriotism. They have had ample opportunity to prove otherwise, yet they refuse. Instead they have chosen to create a straw man - an unidentified Conservative who spends all of his time questioning the patriotism of anyone who "dares question" the Bush White House.
He does not exist. And the patriotic liberal may exist, but he/she is near extinct.
He/she never have. I stopped arguing with him. Too weird.
