Thanks for the further info. Fascinating! About what time was it? I bet driving down I-71 was scary with the heavy rain.

Are you enjoying your quiet?

WTAM just mentioned the very strong winds...80 mph? something like that...the phrase they used was not one of the ones you mentioned but....hurricane! LOL!..This was at Burke Lakefront airport...

The rain started while we were at a restaurant eating dinner, maybe about 7:30 or so. I'd say the lightening 'display' was about 9:00 - 10. and I was driving home betweeen 10:30 and 11:30.

At one point I was in a construction area on I-71, and was passing a truck on the right in a heavy rain with concrete barriers immediately to my right. I was literally blinded by the rain and the spray of the truck, so I just gunned the engine so I could get past it and at least see a little bit.

I usually pretty fearless when it comes to driving, but this scared me quite a bit.

There was one extended downpour where mostly everyone else pulled off but I kept going (the fastest I could go was about 40 because of the rain and wind).

I'm liking the quiet, but I'm doing lots of socializing to make the time go faster (right now I'm headed to my other sister's house in Columbus). I can't wait until Sunday!
