For any Boston Sox Fan Freepers (and I know there are some)please pray for Matt Clement. If you are watching the game, he was just incredibly hit by a hit ball in the head on the mound. He lied on the mound for at least five minutes, motionless. The most shocking moment I have seen in sports. Please pray

How popular is this? Do you know of any websites for this type of activity? I ask because I teach a class in sports economics, and one of the things we talk about is how leagues serve to standardize rules.

There was a player killed in Headland, AL, in the mid-50's....the Alabama-Florida League. I was a little girl but remember it well.

Oh no. That's horrible. Prayers have been sent for Matt that he will make a total recovery with no brain damage or other problems associated with this injury.

Sure, the name of my team is the "Elizabeth Resolutes", we actually play out of Rahway/Westfield/Clark New Jersey area... There's only two teams in NJ, but we travel a bit to NY, RI, CT, we may actually be going out to Akron in late Sept. but it hasn't been firmed up yet... But the association of which we are part is the VBBA (Vintage Base Ball Assoc.) and they do have their own website with a TON of info. on there. Go to that one and your head will spin with what I was mentioning earlier about the rule changes...
