You all are so awesome. I had a brother that was wounded in Nam and spent over a year at Brooks General Hospital in San Antonio. I know that if Jane Fonda or these disgusting vile people would have been there to protest I would not be here posting here today.

There were 3 of us (my mom, my stepfather and myself) that would take turns visiting the other guys on the ward, as only 2 were allowed to visit my brother at a time. On a daily basis these wonderful men would tell each of us how much it meant to them for us to spend time with them. We would simply explain that we were the lucky ones to be able to be in the presence of our hero's.

I live more than 900 miles away or I would love to join you. I have a son in the Air Force and pray that we never have to see the inside again. But from someone that has spent time on the inside believe me these men and women's hearts are filled with gratitude for what you are doing.

If your brother is still with us, you make sure he knows that many Americans do appreciate his sacrifices and those of other troops in Vietnam and elsewhere. We also appreciate the family members who likewise sacrifice and suffer with their loved ones. And your son should be told that we know that he is a defender of the Republic and a guardian of our freedoms.
