How would Giuliani be any worse on abortion.

The bully pulpit and rhetoric are often more powerful than legislation when it comes to changing hearts and minds. President Bush often invokes "culture of life" language, taken directly from Pope John Paul the Great's encyclical Evangelium Vitae. Moreover, it must have made some impact. A January 2003 CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll of 1002 adults found that a plurality (42%) believed that abortion should be legal in only "a few circumstances." Only about one-fourth of respondents believed that abortion should be available "always." A December 2003 Zogby survey of 1200 adults asked the question, "Do you agree with the statement 'Abortion destroys a human life and is manslaughter?'" Fifty-two percent agreed with the statement.

Given his personal beliefs, I doubt that Rudi will use the bully pulpit to advance a culture of life the way President Bush has done so.

But abortion is not the most improtant issue anyway, It is Islamic terror

If you focus only on your own safety and that of your family's, then you are correct. Those of us who take the time to examine the position of the unborn child, however, believe that the abortion issue takes pre-eminence over all others because innocent, helpless Americans are being intentionally destroyed. All of us--military and civillian--can fight against terrorists; the heroes of Flight 93 are a gallant example of ordinary Americans fighting terror. The unborn child, however, is completely helpless. Thus, in justice, his protection is paramount.

You didn't read my post at all. Abortion is of CRITICAL importance to me, which is why Bush's tenure has been so utterly dissapointing to me. Supporting the fetal cannibal Specter over Toomey, not even proposing to cut a single penny from the Planned Parenthood vampires, no programs proposed to fund 3D ultrasounds, which Patricia Heaton is spending $1 million of her own money to finance. How is this "promoting a culture of life".

Bush has uttered lots of words, but where are the deeds on abortion? Partial Birth...that's IT. That's all we get. Even Giuliani suports that. and I promise you'll never hear Rudy utter the words "Religion of Peace" or ever take his shoes off in a mosque.
