My choice is still an Allen/Giuliani ticket.

I don't see many conservatives on the list. Do you think the actual Republican field will be this "moderate"? I don't know that I can take another "compassionate conservative" in the WH. I am favorably disposed to Allen, but the others would be hard for me to hold my nose to vote for.

This poll doesn't surprise me considering the demographics of Florida. More and more folks down here speak with a New York New - Jersey accent.

Santorum and Owens say they're not running.

Obviously month-to-month fluctations this far away mean zip, zilch, nada, but if you take an average it'll give a more solid baseline to measure trend/momentum in the popular consciousness.

Personally I don't like the list at all. I would say Guiliani is the best one on the list!

I personally would rather see Rudy run for Clinton's Senate seat in New York....not that he needs name recognition or anything, but we would be able to see how he can handle the 'Washington D.C.' crowd in action....

If he runs against Clinton, and I can vote....you bet I'll vote for Rudy...I'd vote for anyone against Clinton....Keep her AWAY from the White House!!!!!

I totally agree. And if its a choice between him and McCAin I will vote for Rudy!

This thread has just added to the FreeRepublic Florida Politics list by adding the keyword "Florida".

Any time a Florida-related thread is created on FreeRepublic, please be sure to add the "Florida" keyword to it so that interested FReepers don't miss it.

Guliani may be "America's Mayor," but as a Presidential candidate, he's damaged goods. His extramarital antics may not even hold a candle to Bill Clinton's, but Republicans tend to be less forgiving of such things than Democrats. And Democrats are less forgiving when it's a Republican doing such things (as was their selective outrage over reports of Arnold Schwarzenegger's womanizing).

It's disappointing to look at a list of eleven prospectives and have a reaction of "No" and "HELL NO!" to the top seven.

Count me out! Giuliani is the RINOest of RINOs! The problem is that all of the NYers and NJers are moving down here to scoop up our dirt cheap land! This article makes my blood boil, and you will not see this God-fearing, gun-toting Floridian voting for this man. I don't care if he's "America's Mayor..."

NIMBY, Giuliani!

I don't see many conservatives on the list.

The conservative field (some are debatable, but to each his own) looks like:

Brownback, Frist, Allen, Huckabee, maybe Pawlenty.

Personally I don't think much of Huckabee's chances but I wouldn't have a problem supporting any of them in the general election, or in a 1-on-1 race with Rudy/McCain in the primary.
