What's going on there is that a Rendell-sent gang of toughs from the Italian Market neighborhood is reeducating her, perhaps with truncheons, in a crash course she probably won't list alongside the proud references to Duquesne, Harvard and Wharton on her resume, but from which she may, nonetheless, learn something.

But someone needs to tell these Democrats that you can't be against the war and supportive of the troops at the same time. Because if you do, you are saying something like, "Have a good fight even though you're not fighting for anything worthwhile." Someone should write this one down. This is great.

She has already demonstrated a lack of class. She probably thought it was a campaign rally. DemocRats are known for turning funerals into campaign rallys.....

If she had any class, she'd resign ... Not only do democ'Rats lack class, they are shameless as well. Eight long years of the Clintonistas is testimony to that ... so expecting the PA Lt. Gov. to resign won't happen.

"Class" and "Democrat" are ususally mutually exclusive. When "class" is an adjective. Otherwise, it is at the very core of their Marxist redistributionist atheistic ideology.

On another recent thread regarding this incident someone mentioned they would be curious to see how the libs viewed it. I went to DU and looked for at an hour before coming across a thread on it. There were only FOUR postings. the postings were negative except for one that of course had to mention how evil the war and Bush are. Compare that to the hundred and hundreds of postings you see on it at FR. The DUmmies studiously avoid being critical of their hero's

I know Mrs. Knoll...she comes from my old neighborhood...her late husband was a contemporary of my father, so she's probably well into her 80's. Perhaps it's time for her to hang it up and enjoy her grandchildren.

In his statement, Rendell says, "It's not the business of state government to support the war, but our state supports the men and women who are fighting this war." That's technically right, of course, and probably the only thing the Governor can say. The Constitution gives the conduct of foreign policy to the Feds, and states, per se, have no business taking sides. No, that's NOT technically right. It is the DUTY of each State to support the war and the war effort, as each is a part of the Union. It is the duty of the Governor of each State, the duty of Ed Rendell, to support the war and the war effort both in words and deeds. It is true only that in this era, the specified obligations of the states to support the war are obscured and few, but certainly the words of the Governor, speaking as the Governor are included in that duty.

As a reformed tough from 9th street, I take great exception to this stereo type. We don't use truncheons, a bacci ball in a sock is more our style.

This hit the nail on the head. A lot of these folks assume that if you have a loved one in harms way or have lost someone you have to be against the war. They can't have a conversation with you without bringing up numbers, lies, or the UN.

ahhhh... we know for a fact that she hasn't an iota of class.
But someone needs to tell these Democrats that you can't be against the war and supportive of the troops at the same time.
It's easy to see. Their basic idea that poor innocent Iraqis are being slaughtered shows just what the left thinks of the troops. It's implied that the military are nothing more than murderers. How does that translate into "support"? It's why they all jumped on the Abu Ghraib bandwagon so quickly. It fed their preconceived notions about the military and they push it as evidence of the standard of treatment our military presents.

Reading the story carefully, what stands out to me is this: the Light Governor really thought she was saying something comforting. That's more shockingly revealing, in a way, about how the liberals just don't get it than supposing she was being a mean-spirited bitch of the Michael Moore genre.
I find this to be the most telling part of the article - while many Dims are treacherous and traitorous, many others are really so out of touch with reality that it seems that they are truly nuts.
I guess that if you use the litmus test for insanity where if you doubt your sanity, you're probably sane, whereas, if you don't see anything wrong with the aberrations of your thoughts, you're probably insane; then many Dims are in fact insane.
