Nothing new here. Italy was first among their targets a year ago, with Berlesconi specifically mentioned. He runs for election in Spring 2006. My daughter studied in Italy this past spring and I looked into all this a year ago. Some kind of attempt was made, I believe on Blair's life, in Italy a year ago while he was vacationing there and was with Berlesconi. I don't remember the details, but was surprised that it hadn't reached the MSM. I determined then that this past year would be safer than this coming year in Italy because of the upcoming election. I think I called it right. I was in Tuscany two months ago, and loved it, but glad I'm home now.
I had such a wonderful experience in and around Tuscany back in the 60's and 70's, I chose the area for my first honeymoon( with my second wife). I'm not surprised that terrorists will eyeball this magnificient region. We stayed at a villa in Lucca........it is TDF.
