I had such a wonderful experience in and around Tuscany back in the 60's and 70's, I chose the area for my first honeymoon( with my second wife). I'm not surprised that terrorists will eyeball this magnificient region. We stayed at a villa in Lucca........it is TDF.
What a lovely location! My daughter studied in Florence and since I didn't have much time there, I didn't get out into the countryside. I saw it from the train. I went without my husband who doesn't like to fly and I've been trying to convince him since I got back to return with me.
