If the only thing they can find "wrong" with John G. Roberts, Jr. is the "nostalgic" style of his children's clothing, then Judge Roberts should be approved by acclamation tomorrow morning.

I thought the two children looked adorable!....but the Post's critic, Robin Givhan, used a buzz word - "NOSTALGIC" - by which she hoped to conjure up "reactionary," "old fashioned," "retrogressive" (as in "turn back the clock of social progress"), and maybe "repressive" or "oppressive" by association. Again I say, how tacky can a would-be journalist be?

The irony of a dowdy skank, as the arbiter of it's fashion section, is lost on the Washington Post.

The source is the source
of course of course;
And no one can talk to the source,
of course.
Unless, of course,
The name of the source
Has "Freeper" in its name.

Post fashion writer Robin Givhan complained about “the nostalgic costuming of the children”

They were adorable, and reminiscent of Caroline and John-John.

Imagine if these two had been children of a RAT nominee. It would have been Camelot revisited.

but the Post's critic, Robin Givhan, used a buzz word - "NOSTALGIC"

Miss Givhan also had a case of the vapors over John Bolton's hair.

And surely you recall her vicious comments about Katherine Harris' makeup and wardrobe.

Givhan is a shallow fashion critic who finds fault with one's politics...

Lots of people on this very site were carping about the very same thing.

I saw nothing wrong with the way the children were dressed, but I did notice that the mother had no control over her little son. He had no idea who was the boss. No one had taught him not to bite his mother.

If a man can not control is own house, should he be trying to guide a whole nation?

I have yet to see many people in Washington DC dress appropriately, least of all Robin Givhan. It's like they missed the fashion bus for the last ten years. I thought what the Roberts' family wore was entirely appropriate and looked great. What did she expect, JLO or Britney Spears?

There's nothing like some goober writing about something like this when it's obvious he or she doesn't know what's going on. I have church pictures and other portraits made when I was the age of Judge Robert's son in very similar clothing. It's classic and proper. The author was apparently very limited in the attire proper for a 4-year old. I guess this person expected a 3-piece? (Come to think of it, I had one of those at a fairly young age as well).

They should be dressed like hip-hop ragpickers as if they're going to school?

Saw this on TV. The "critic" sounded extremely bitchy.

Phooey. Ah, the post is disappointed they weren't in flip-flops or hip-hop gear. Or maybe they were hoping to see tank tops in the East room???

Does anyone have the exact quote from "Miz" Givhan? Although I am sure it was said in that sneering way New York liberals speak, I simply can't get too jacked about the word "nostalgic".

I think they looked cute and very reminiscent of how I dressed my kids a few years ago when I still "dressed them".

But still, I think Mrs. Lafferty has her panties in a wad over a nonissue. Hypersensitive much? She should save her outrage for something that really matters.

And the dunce cap award goes to the Post for this lame weak article picking on kids. What easy targets they were huh. Guess pinko's would've been satisfied if the Roberts children were dressed scantily for kiddie porn and huffing glue out of a brown paper bag.
