Thanks sodpoodle.

Every other Aruban media infobabe/boy seem to be afraid or ill informed.

Which magnifys Jossy even more. He is defying the Aruban/Dutch establishment. Just how much power does Jossy have?

There was a profile on Jossy & his family on one of the NINE threads. Seems he has a dubious background, but back to your question; "how much power does Jossy have?"

In Aruba, his influence is probably equivalent to the New York Times in USA - would be my guess.

"He is defying the Aruban/Dutch establishment. Just how much power does Jossy have?" This is a very good question. I think there are two schools of thought on Jossy and I'm not sure which one I favor more. 1. Jossy is, from what I understand, very wealthy and controls a lot of the 'business' on the island. He is from the Mansur family, reported to be a mafia-type clan. If there is more to this than a date-rape gone bad and some other people are involved it may be that they are 'rivals' to the Mansur family. Jossy may want to see them taken down and has no qualms about it. His interest may be more 'politcal' and we know that all politics are local. 2. Or, Jossy is very interested in ties to the US. He may be looking to crack the 'market' in this country. This case has draw worldwide attention and Jossy helping the US may end up with some 'favors' some favors down the road. And then again, a number 3: I have read waaayyy too many Tom Clancy, Robert Ludlum and John Grisham novels.
