More military forces and equipment should be deployed in the hunt for al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, Saudi Arabia's next ambassador to Washington said.
Prince Turki al-Faisal's comments to CNN's Late Edition came after groups saying they were linked with al-Qaeda claimed responsibility for the bombings in Egypt and London.
"We know that he (bin Laden) is in an area that is very difficult to pursue him in and, therefore, more assets and people and equipment are required," said Turki, slated to replace Prince Bandar bin Sultan as Saudi envoy to Washington after Bandar's resignation last week.
During the 2004 US presidential campaign, Democratic candidate John Kerry accused President George W Bush of shifting US military resources from the hunt for bin Laden to Iraq, a charge Bush denied.
The Bush administration maintains it is doing everything it can to find bin Laden.
Turki brushed aside US congressional complaints that Saudi money funds Muslim religious schools, known as madrassas, that may provide al-Qaeda and other groups with new recruits.
"We don't finance these madrassas," he said.

Go right ahead. Nothing is stopping the Saudis.
So, feel free to help hunt Bin Laden!
And it would help if you loer the price on a barrel of crude oil, too!
I guess the Saudis, like the Kuwaitis before them, are telling us what we're going to do for them, while they sit back and wait.
Jump on it boys. You blend in better than us. Hell, you could probably ask one of the hundreds in the 'royal' family, one of 'ems sure to know where he's at, probably has his money-wiring info.
The SANG is there only to protect the House of Fahad.
Takes the heat øff of them. Most of the 9/11 characters were Saudis. Just catch Bin Laden and everything will be fine and dandy in the Middle East.
That was my first thought, just give us the address of the hut/cave you send money to.
Just who are they to "want?"
Just do it and let us know when they've got him.
I'm trying to figure out what prompted such a statement.
If the Saudis are truly interested in seeing
the hunt for for UBL to ntensify, there is one
simple thing they could do to advance it.
Make the money they send to the Pakistani
madrassas, conditonal n their suport, and
to start telling their students the
destruction and dishonor that UBL has brought
and continues to bring upon Islam.
I say we ask for a consensus on leveling the entire area between Afghanistan and Pakistan. If all of these countries are so supportive of getting the sob, this shouldn't be a problem right?
They don't want him to nuke their oil. No oil..no money..just sand.
Hybrid cars and fuel cells will do them in eventually. Going off oil is the only real answer again, IMHO.
So why don't -they- do something about it?
Gimme a friggin break, nothing is stopping the Saudis from sending troops to Afghanistan and Pakistan, nothing except the same two faced Bulls*** that these ***holes keep spreading around.
Is it time for my pro-nuclear power rant?
They want us to kill him. If they kill him...the war will turn from the West...to the middle east and Saudi. They see what has happened in Egypt.
