Actually, it's kinda fun to watch her progressively deteriorate into a ranting, raving old has-been, with nothing insulating her from reality but a big bank account. It's quite fitting - in a 'Hammer Films' sort of way - that she lives in a mansion on the edge of an cliff overlooking the ocean.

Whenever I think about Streisand I recall a bit from Pauline Kael's review of "A Star Is Born", in which she makes fun of a scene where after Kristofferson is dead, Streisand hears his singing and runs through the house, thinking he's somehow alive! In fact, it's a tape.
Kael: "Are we to believe this famous singer has heard about recording technology?"
I read a book about Guber-Peters not long ago; man, was she a real trip to work for. With the exception of putting on a concert for free to calm down the extras, I don't think there is one moment of niceness or professional courtesy on her part described in the book.
