Probably shouldn't have said anything but it is the same posting on all these bombing threads and it just struck me wrong right now.

Guess it is knowing my daughter is sitting on an island off Italy and my son-in-law with his squadron are where there is no contact right now. First time they have been both been deployed at the same time.

Some AF types I know have kids in Turkey and in Egypt and the news coverage on TV is so louzy that when I saw the joking I overreacted.

No need to feel that you over-reacted. You did not. I think we all felt the same and some just let off steam, and it kinda built for a while. People on FR are really good people, you know that. And we know you are, and understand. I couldn't feel any differently than you do, so I do not have any desire to think you over-reacted.

I will add a prayer for your children to my list tonite. All these stories are scary, truly scary, even when they are not on our home shores, the thought that the next one might be is with us all.

When I was a young girl I went to a funeral of the pastor of our church. We were all in class groups together, with the nuns watching over us. We were supposed to be very solemn, of course. But the anxiety of it caused me to start laughing, as it did for some others. You can imagine what the nuns did. Of course I did not find it funny. I was just nervous. I had never seen a dead person, nor been to a funeral. It was frightening, but I didn't want to act like I was scared in front of my friends. So I giggled. I think, in a way, that is what happens in cases like this. Under it all we have a fear. Some deeper than others, but that is why it is called "terrorism" because it does frighten us.

I hope you have peace in your heart while your children are away and in the service. Again, blessings to you and yours.
