Great video; the link works.

That was the coolest damn thing I have ever seen. It started as a white vertical tube in the cloud with a dust devil-type thing on the ground below it, then a full on tornado.
Those guys were lucky as hell to see it so close up and capture it on tape to boot.
Thanks for posting it.

Awesome, thanks for sharing that.
It was as if the white house had a guaradian angel.

As a Minnesota native, I remember having seen whisps of baby tornados dancing and twistin away below the clouds but well short of ground , and a few waterspouts on the lakes as well.
Still quite a bit glob of weather in that area too..

Be safe.

Have you seen this? Do you have a wx ping list?
Post it over at WW and Eastern US Wx -- they'd love it.

We have some of the bravest--or stupidest--weather reporters around. Flying around near tornadoes in helicopters and all that. They get some excellent footage of tornadoes forming, and I've caught a few whose speed of development would make your jaw drop. But the footage quality's nowhere near this caliber.

A spectacular piece of video.
Thanks.
Tornado's are probably the only reason I am glad to live in New England.

I watched the video and I hate to say this, but here in Oklahoma that wouldn't be considered much of a tornado.
