LONDON, July 23 (UPI) -- Although most British Muslims condemn the London bombings, some say the terrorist acts are justified, the London Daily Telegraph reported Saturday.
The newspaper said it has determined Muslims are divided over the morality of the London bombings and how Muslims should respond to the recent terrorist attacks.
A Daily Telegraph poll indicates 88 percent of British Muslims have no intention of trying to justify the incidents.
However, the newspaper said 6 percent believe the bombings were fully justified. That figure represents about 100,000 members of Britain's Muslin population, the newspaper said.
A full 24 percent of respondents said they have some sympathy with the feelings and motives of the terrorists responsible for the recent London bombings. And 56 percent said they can, at least, understand why some people might behave in such a manner.

And 56 percent said they can, at least, understand why some people might behave in such a manner. I understand why they might behave that way. They're mentally ill.

And that's in Britain, where many are actually Westernized and believe in Islam no more than John Kerry believes in Catholicism.
Extrapolated globally, this would mean 288 million 'radical Islamists'. Except in most Muslim nations the figure is far higher than 24 percent.

No surprise here. The Daily Telegraph is asking British Muslims to justify their religion.

Except in most Muslim nations the figure is far higher than 24 percent. Oh, I'd be willing to wager it is at least that high in Britian also. Remember, one can find the most radical literature and preach the most radical, violent beliefs unfettered in Britian, whereas in most Islamic countries that is not the case.

It's a problem so many of them agree with or have some sympathy for the attacks, but it is good to know the great majority of Moslems oppose terrorism.

A poll needs to be conducted here in the U.S. among Muslims. Ask whether or not they sympathize with Muslims who commit these barbaric acts of mass homicide. Those that sympathize should be 'rounded up' and deported immediately and any citizenship or visa's stripped from them immediately. Sympathy is the first step toward support.
my 2 cents.

Radical Islam is an insane murder cult; moderate Islam is its Trojan Horse in the West.

It is not conceivable that an opinion measuring culture like ours would NOT have already done this.
The disturbing part is that whoever DID take the poll, chose not to release the findings.

So what, some people agreed with Hitler's motives, too. The terrorists are going the same route as Hitler, and will come to the same end.

I would say that the numbers represented here are a bit more than "some" as indicated in the article's title.

Your right. It's probably the wonderful INS that has the data. We know their not interested in our nations security. Only perpetuating the problem thereof by granting visa's and citizenship to extremely questionable individual's from the worlds hot-bed of terrorism and then refusing to deport those who are here illegally!

Although most British Muslims condemn the London bombings... Did they actually say this, or is this the reporter's spin on things?

Although most British Muslims condemn the London bombings...
Either way, it's a probably a lie. The ones that say they don't support this murderous ideology are probably lying. Those that truly don't support it don't read their Koran and are 'back-slidden'.
