Flag-in-Toilet 'Art' on Display in California Justice Department Friday, July 22, 2005 SACRAMENTO Dozens of works by California lawyers are on display inside the cafeteria at the Department of Justice in Sacramento. But one painting in particular has caused such outrage that hundreds of people have signed an online petition to have it removed. The painting is called "T'anks to Mr. Bush," and it shows a star-spangled United States being flushed down the toilet. The artist, a Berkeley lawyer, says it depicts his view of where President Bush (search) is leading the country. The nonprofit arts council put together the annual exhibit, and the attorney general whose office is in the building says it would be un-American to remove this, or any piece, just because it's controversial. "For those that it offends, they shouldn't look at it."

So the Attorney General of California really thinks that Californians want him sanctioning the desecration of the flag and overt political attacks on the President as part of an "art" exhibit in a State office?
More of this to come from a blue state near you.
The liberals are the scourge of the Earth.
Someone else has put a pair of pointy cowboy boots in front of it. Find out what size they are, and have an appropriate someone go there, put them on, then kick the artist into the next county.
Looks like an 6 year old kid did that. Heck, I remember when I was that young, us kids thought it was cool to draw a toilet, then again at that stage in life, in us males, bathroom humor was king. I can take humor as much as the next guy but I think this artist never grew up. I think this artist needs to be taken to the woodshed.
Just one more reason to think poorly of lawyers.
I'd like 15 minutes be alone with this flag "artist"
I say let them show their true colors. Republicans should take a picture of and film the display and use it throughout the country in their own commercials during the next election season. The GOP just needs to show what librerals are like, that's all.
It just amazes me we can let this type of display be marketed as art...flags in toilets, crosses in urine, Bibles, etc.
But don't let it be a Koran the cry of 'foul' would be overwhelming.
There's not much art in that "ART". The painter better stick w/lawyering.
All 3 of them seem to have been done by Palestinian apologists. Berkeley. Heh.
Our tax dollars at work.
Anti-American Art Display Sponsored by CA Attorney General [PHOTOS]
(snip)The exhibit is sponsored by a taxpayer funded entity (the California Arts Council) and Californias top law enforcement officer, Attorney General Bill Lockyer. Lockyer is listed as an official sponsor of the event according to a press release issued on July 12, 2005 by the California Arts Council (a taxpayer-funded entity).
No, no - you're going about it the wrong way. You want 15 minutes in public with him, along with a couple very good friends, and baseball bats. Wear all black, and paint your faces white, and beat the hell out of him while Moussorgsky's "Night on Bald Mountain" is playing in the background. Have another friend standing there with a sign that explains that all of you are performing in Guerilla Street Performance Art - that you and your friends in black and the anonymous white face represent the government and its military industrial complex, and that the attorney represents the brave insurgents uprising against the government. Put a hat out in front of the group, and use the money collected to buy beer later on. It's California - I'm willing to bet you'll get away with it.
Berkeley radicals still at it...they love America so much!
And a few other choice words! LOL
Of course, if this were a painting of the Koran being flushed, there would be a hate crime investigation....
My question is this, Does this artist have a private practice or does he take a paycheck from the government.
Why didnt they name this POS ? The public has a right to know who he is.
"if this were a painting of the Koran being flushed, there would be a hate crime investigation..."
We have a winner!
