I must say, you come across as a Knight in Shining Armor, defending his lady. :-)
You are quite the gentleman yourself.
But, Sir Thomas, she's a grown woman, and I can't imagine she even had her feathers ruffled at the worst comments you're reporting here. She makes similar comments about other people consistently.
The fair maiden captured this old soldiers heart when she responded to a question about how we should prosecute the war on Islamic terrorists by answering, We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity. Anyone who can quickly analyze a problem such as this, come to such a workable conclusion and then express her opinion without fear of repercussions as she did is always worth listening to.
As for her comments on Roberts, all she said was that we could have had a Scalia and all we got was an unknown. We dont know what we got with Roberts and it shouldnt have ended up like that.
By the way, does anyone know where Roberts stands on our Second Amendment rights?
Sirthomas,
I think that you discovered early that there is an attack dog mentality amongst the element that pretends to be conservative, but are nothing more than disruptors.
I am in no way comparing myself to Ann, but on this and another 'conservative' forum, I get savaged for stating facts and opinion. Rarely does anyone ever try to argue the logic and reason that I put forth. They don't even say that I am wrong. They just try to insult me into submission.
Oh well, sticks and stones . . .
Welcome to FR.
All of you guys (and gals) who are sooo certain that Roberts is going to be bad, get a life. President Bush jas done a pretty darn good job of whipping the Dims up till now. You all sound like a bunch of whiney Liberals.
Annie may be right, she quite often is, but she has darn little to go on this time. Remember, as Dennis Miller said, Democrats believe too much on their guess work, looks like to me that you are all following in their footsteps. I personally trust Bush's judgement in this. The one thing I know about Bush 43 is that he is a man of his word. He may have been fooled, but I seriously doubt it. I heard Dick Cheney talking about this choice on Rush yesterday, and what I heard, I liked.
All of you nervous Nellies take a chill pill. Bush does not worry about polls or legacies, he said he would appoint someone like Scalia or Thomas, I'm willing to bet that Roberts will turn out to be very close to that.
As to this Conservative BS, I for one do not want a conservative or liberal on the court, I want a strict originalist. I don't want your Religious views, or his Religious views, or my Religious views imposed on this Nation, I want the Nation that Jefferson, Madison, Washington, and Franklin left us. I want freedom of religion not state religion. I too hope that Roe is overturned, not for moral reasons (although I agree there), but because it was the single worst SCOTUS decision since Dred Scott.
I love Annie, but she ain't perfect. She's a bomb thrower and as such she has to expect some heat. I am thoroughly confident that she can handle it, she's been in this game long enough to have seen it all. Grow up ya'll, it's a tough world out there.
Have a little faith, In God's world, things invariably work out for the best.
At the end of the day, Ann Coulter's opinion on this board is subject to the same scrutiny of any poster on this board. Ann's a big girl, she should be able to take the heat, given that she is fond of starting fires. Chill out.
