Meet me at your fair, Louie, and I'll introduce you to this delightful pastry.
It always is made after your order, the batter drizzled before you in hot oil, and thus fresh and good.
As a diabetic, I have them merely dusted ever so faintly with the powdered sugar...
(They have them at a very large flea market 20 miles from me every Saturday.
The first one I had, though, was at a fair in Ohio!)
