The death penalty is Biblically supportable. Mutilation isn't. Capital punishment respects the humanity of the offender, by treating him like a responsible person, rather than like cattle.

Well said. I'm all for law and order, but this seems excessive. If they're so concerned about sex offenders, especially those that molest children, why not just lock them up longer? What's next, cutting off the hands of people convicted of theft?
OK, then give them a choice. They get the death penalty, unless they want to be castrated instead.
People convicted of violent sex crimes against children under 12 deserve every punishment that man can think of then be executed by stoning or starvation.
They can only be bred from Satan, IMO.
