I love a cheerful story in the morning.
Jolly good for the Brits!!
It's nice to wake up to a story where one of them is dead rather than 56 or 3000+ of us are dead!!!!!!
Good shooting, Brits. This is how all terrorists should be treated.
Shoot first, Ask questions later....
works for me.
British police has guns with bullets ??
So much for the idea of the friendly, helpful, unarmed British Bobby.
Well done!
Tag a few more.
Jack.
I say: Marvelous!!
Bombs kill people. Why don't they just outlaw guns?
Is this preferable to the rational two step suggestion:
Expel immediately every foreign born muslim in the country illegally. One day or 20, doesn't matter. Within 24 hours. Repeat offenders are executed upon being found.
Expel apparently legal muslims and their entire families when their activities and behavior unambiguously identifies them as inimical to their host country. Preaching or endorsing mass or individual murder at mosques and community centers shall constitute inimical behavior.
Why must the the price for tolerance of primitive mass murderers be paid with citizens' blood?
What sort of government permits that?
This is another example of gun violence and why we need to ban all guns around the world. Of course the terrorist use bombs made out of household products so we'll have to ban them too. (sarcasm off)
I don't know why I do it to myself sometimes...
It's scary as hell....but I went and perused DU's take on this case.
Simply unreal.
It seems some there have their heads on reasonably straight, but the overall conspiracy/paranoia level is phenomenal.
Well, and not to mention the lack of common sense.
My thoughts are with you our Brothers in Arms....stay safe.
Oh, and I can't tell you how proud I am of the way the police handled this situation. Talk about concise, quick and spot on decision making...../salute
This morning the LA Times described the people the subway police are guarding against as " intruders ",,,,PC crazy to a new level, bombers being too rude I guess....Just how does one " intrude " on a subway ????

"Shot man not connected to bombing"
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Brazilian diplomats in London said they had been told by police that the man who was shot dead by police on Friday was a Brazilian.
An earlier Scotland Yard statement read: "We believe we now know the identity of the man shot at Stockwell Underground station by police on Friday 22nd July 2005, although he is still subject to formal identification.
"We are now satisfied that he was not connected with the incidents of Thursday 21st July 2005.
"For somebody to lose their life in such circumstances is a tragedy and one that the Metropolitan Police Service regrets."
The statement confirmed the man had been followed by police from a house in Tulse Hill that was under surveillance."

"Man Killed by Police Had No Connection to London Attacks"
Saturday, July 23, 2005
AP
ARTICLE SNIPPET: ""For somebody to lose their life in such circumstances is a tragedy and one that the Metropolitan Police Service regrets," a police spokesman said on customary condition of anonymity.
The man, whose identity has not been released, was shot Friday at a subway station in the south London neighborhood of Stockwell (search). Witnesses said the man appeared to be South Asian and was wearing a heavy padded coat when police chased him into a subway car, pinned him to the ground and shot him in the head and torso.
A spokesman for Scotland Yard (search) said on customary condition of anonymity that the man was unconnected to the incidents of Thursday, in which bombs placed on three subway cars and a double-decker bus failed to detonate properly.
The spokesman also said the man was "probably unconnected" to the July 7 subway and bus bombings that killed 56 people, including four attackers.
However, Scotland Yard would not rule out that the man was not connected to any terrorist actions."

Somebody else could be shot - London police chief

Scotland Yard Commissioner Sir Ian Blair today admitted further people could be shot as detectives hunt down the would-be suicide bombers who tried to bring further carnage to London last week.
His comments followed the fatal shooting of innocent Brazilian electrician Jean Charles de Menezes, 27, who was killed by undercover police officers on Friday morning as he tried to board a Tube train at Stockwell, south London.
Sir Ian admitted there was a shoot-to-kill policy for tackling suicide bombers and it would not change, although the death of Mr de Menezes was a tragedy.
Somebody else could be shot. But everything is done to make it right, Sir Ian told Sunday with Adam Boulton on Sky News.
This is a terrifying set of circumstances for individuals to make decisions.
Sir Ian defended the actions of his officers, saying: ``What we have got to recognise is that people are taking incredibly difficult fast time decisions in life threatening situations.
It wasnt just a random event and whats most important to recognise is that its still happening out there.
There are still officers out there having to make those calls as we speak.
He said Mr de Menezes had emerged from a not very large block of flats which had been under surveillance before he was followed to Stockwell station.
The shoot-to-kill procedures for dealing with suicide bombers would remain in place.
They have to be that because there is no point in shooting at someones chest because that is where the bomb is likely to be, he said.
There is no point in shooting anywhere else if they fall down and detonate it.
It is drawn from experience from other countries, including Sri Lanka. The only way to deal with this is to shoot to the head.
