Freepers, how many of you watched this PBS documentary Tuesday night? "The Brooklyn Connection" shows the terrifying ease with which a charming Brooklyn businessman (an Albanian Kosovar) raised $30 million during the Kosovo War, purchased weapons across the USA, and shipped them to Albania to be smuggled into Kosovo. These immigrants bragged about killing UN peacekeepers, Serbs, or anybody else who will get in their way. What I found most interesting, in addition to the Brooklyn Businessman's multiple ties to the Kosovar Liberation Army, was the glee with which John Kerry and Richard Holbrook personally accepted over $500,000.00 in campaign contributions. This was even more egregious than Al Gore and the Buddhist monks. A case could be made that the monks were American citizens, and eligible to give in Presidential politics. But recent Kosovar refugees? Many of whom had been killing Serbs? I am not kidding, this was all documented film footage. I have not seen so much blatant braggadocio since the Columbine tapes of Dylan and Keibold.
Did it have the usual, how shall I say it, ...bias???
Actually, it was unbiased. But, I think that had more to do with the Rats involvement in the whole thing. Couldn't so blatantly bash Bush without inadvertently doing some Rat stomping.
I must say it was even handed in a liberal way, because the producer - Klaartje Quirijns, wanted the viewer to judge if the Hero of her documentary was in fact, a terrorist or freedom fighter. I think she was sympathetic, but conflicted.
I think there should be a chorus of cries for a special prosecutor to investigate Kerry's ties with illegal campaign money, and a cross check to see who is also giving to Billary, and the Clitoon library. These Muslims owe Bill big time.
Maybe they'll repeat the show.
So, let me make sure that I have this right -- a MUSLIM terrorist supporter living in Brooklyn, illegally buys and ships weapons to MUSLIM terrorists in the Balkans so that MUSLIM terrorists can kill Christians.
Excellent work. The Kosovars dance, they sing "I'll sell my soul for Kosovo." Contributing to the Kerry campaign...
Priceless. What are the chances of having Elliot Spitzer take up the case?
First of all, let me make it clear that I am from Kosovo; I was born and raised there. I think that there are some exaggerated facts in the movie. Indeed, I just saw the movie, and still, I cant believe it how irrational is that guy.
Before I go further, I just want to add that during the war, I was there and did go through hell. I was just fourteen at that time; I was capable of neither defending my family, myself, nor my 68 years old uncle and his wife who were killed and burnt by Serbs paramilitary forces, for they didnt want to leave their house when they were ordered by Serb paramilitary forces to do so. I lived in a refugee camp in horrible condition for a while, and so did my family; we were deported out of our hometown, the town that my grandfather, my father and I were born and had our properties. Dont you think that defending your property is a good reason to fight, to rebel against those who are trying to take it from you? I, certainly, do.
Moreover, Kosovars Albanians may be considered muslims by westerners according to some data, yet people around the world dont really understand the role of religion in Albanians lives. You may consider me as a muslim, but I have never been in any mosque, I dont know how to pray, and religion has never played not even a little role in my life. It is not only I who have this kind of experience with religion, but more than 70 % of Albanians are in the same boat with me; we the Albanians have not given a dam about religion in the past 50 years. In fact, Albania has been the only atheistic country in the world up to now. Albanians accepted Islam and converted to Muslim 300 or 400 years ago, for they didnt want to pay taxes under Ottoman Empire. Religion is just irrelevant in the lives of Albanian people. Perhaps, there are Albanians in your community, and you may want to verify this by observing how they practice their religion. Florims main motive was not and will never be the religion, but it was his love for his homeland and its people. The religion of the Albanians is Albanianism.
Facts show that Serbs have tried and are trying to make a strong propaganda that they have been fighting these monsters muslims who have tried to kill Christians, but indeed, the war in Kosovo was not about religion; people of Kosovo got support from the state of Israel, and every other Christian nation in the world, whereas Serbs got support of Saddam Hussein and China. In fact, the great state of Israel even accepted refugees from Kosovo and gave them opportunity to re-start their lives, for in what Jewish people went through during the WWII, Kosovars-albanians went through during the war in Kosovo in the end of the last century. Jewish people around the world were touched deeply by deportations that occur in Kosovo in the beginning of 1999; it reminded them many horrible things that happened to their grandfathers and parents.
I give you two web sites, and I think you should check them out:

About elections: Albanian community in the United States was against the re-election of Bill Clinton in 1996. Albanian community, here, in the United States spent millions of dollars in support of Bob Dole and other republicans, and they are still doing it. Bob Dole, frm- Senate majority leader R and a president candidate in 1996 election is the ambassador of Kosovo in the United States; he visited Kosovo, recently. I am not concerned whether the United States will support the independence of Kosovo or not, for I know already that it does because the US supports freedom and people such as Kosovars-Albanians who appreciate and fight for freedom. However, I am afraid of Europe, which it cant be trusted because they dont play fair. History has shown that.
Sincerely,
ILovePejaa
I missed it, too, but lately PBS and NPR are mumbling about being more 'even-handed', not that they're admitting any bias, of course.
I watched POV about a town in Wyoming I think. They were basically blaming Talk Radio for galvenizing a town against itself. Was probably about the most biased pos i've ever seen
"So, let me make sure that I have this right -- a MUSLIM terrorist supporter living in Brooklyn, illegally buys and ships weapons to MUSLIM terrorists in the Balkans so that MUSLIM terrorists can kill Christians."
I watched that documentary and in no way did I get the impression the arms smuggler living in Brooklyn and his family were acting like muslims or even muslims. Not even his friends and family back in his home land were muslimesque. They didn't wear any muslim attire, the women, his wife were wearing "western" fashions, hair, arms and legs exposed, hair exposed, women wearing contemporary facial makeup. The wife spoke freely unlike traditional muslim women(are not allowed to). They were very "assimiliated" and living the contemporary western life in America to the point of appearing like mine, yours, any typical American family grilling in the backyard. How many muslims barbecue outside with their friends and family over for an outdoor picnic? None!
What I was shocked to learn was, is how flippin easy it is to purchase a very large military type gun measuring at least 6 feet long requiring a tripod stand and getting it shipped UPS over seas!!! WTH ??? I get interrogated by my local post master about small gifts I mail inside America!
