Listening live to Rush Limbaugh. Chime in!
Well, I don't know what else to tell you.
I've posted references, including a quote from Hynde herself regarding Limbaugh and PETA. It's her song, so I think she would know.
Sometimes, reality hurts.
Your welcome.
What is the name of this device he was talking about, the one where you can watch your cable from anywhere in the world?
Santorum's insight into incumbent support- These senators vote against their interests on some items like procedural votes. They do so against interests with the understanding as part of a party you have to give a little, and in return they'll receive support in their elections. For the President or leadership to not support them would cause distrust among all members. It would mean they are out there on their own against better interests, so they may as well go their own way which would lead to complete disunity.
Actually, this is the best argument I've heard for incumbancy support. I personally don't feel WE (the base) are bound to this support and cannot challenge in primaries, but consider this goes beyond Specter of Chafee. Take Coleman for example. Been a good addition to the Reublican ranks. Pretty solid guy most of the time. lue state. Against best interests at times. Should the leadership not support Spectre, it could cause people like Coleman to wonder how far they can step 'off the reservation' and still have support in their elections. Dittos very stong conservatives who may buck the President in favor of more conservative measures. It can go both ways.
It's a strong argument worth consideration.
For my part, there is nothing to state the base cannot function independantly by fronting our own candidate in primaries either. The two are not necessarily incompatible.

Here's Erwin's comments on Roberts from Betsy's Page
http://betsyspage.blogspot.com/2005/07/edwin-chemerinsky-professor-at-duke.html
Edwin Chemerinsky, a professor at Duke Law School, tries to persuade Democratic senators to filibuster Roberts if he refuses to answer questions about his personal opinions. Apparently, the Ginsburg precedent is only good for Democratic nominees. And Chemerinsky seems to believe that an originalist approach to judicial interpretation is a disqualifier for a nominee.
For example, he must be asked detailed questions about how he believes a Supreme Court justice should interpret the Constitution. Does he agree with Scalia and Thomas that the meaning of the Constitution was fixed when it was adopted? Or does he believe, as do a majority of current justices, that there is a living Constitution? Does he believe in the protection of rights not mentioned in the Constitution, such as privacy and its protection for such rights as access to contraception and abortion? When does he believe it is appropriate for the Supreme Court to overturn a precedent?
Does that mean that someone who doesn't believe what a majority of justices believe is ineligible? What rot! There was a time when the majority of justices believed that the Sherman Antitrust Act would prevent strikes but didn't apply much to giant companies. There was a time when a majority didn't think that the 14th Amendment incorporated the Bill of Rights. Since when is it assumed that what a majority believe on the Court is written by the hand of God? Oh, I forgot, some Democratic senators do believe that.
And Rush ends for the day.
Thanks for tuning in.
That is going to be big... I mean real big..
I agree. I quickly went to their site -- only to find out that it's a privately held company. But, it should help BB's bottom line.
I agree... Too bad it is a privately held company...
Thanks!!!
I agree with you about Savage. When he goes after Rush and Hannity, he just makes himself sound bitter and petty. It's obvious that he's envious of their larger audiences. I have never heard either Rush or Hannity criticize other conservative talk show hosts.
There are some things that I like about Savage, especially when he criticizes our political correctness in going after islamofascism. But it's always disturbed me that he feels that he needs to tear down the competition in order to build himself up.
Agreed 100%.
I heard he is going to France.
I think we are misunderstanding each other.
My view is that it's very doubtful that Rush Limbaugh or those acting on his behalf write a check for any amount to PETA.
What Chrissie Hynde does with her royalties from this or any other song is her business and I'm not bothered.
Besides, I played along to every note of 'Pretenders - The Singles' last night. Great stuff.
