They truly doth protest too much. They're angry that they were misled for a couple of hours on the Roberts nomination, but don't mind a bit that the Dems have played them like a fiddle on this whole Plame thing.

Why would the Bushies have bothered?

To make the press look unreliable?
To show that the press don't verify before they print?
To show that trusting anonymous sources is a fools game?

Someone sees Clement get on a plane and posts it to his blog. Some reporter prints it without any fact checking at all. Is that pretty much what happened?

And no one seems to be able to get Roberts stance 'straight'.

Politically brilliant, maybe. But the fact that we really don't know much about Roberts' stances troubles me.

Keep your eye on the birdie...pay no attention to the man behind the screen...There's a good boy, look it's an airplane...

YOWZA!

There, now who wants a lollypop...Michael Moore, I'm looking your way. ;D

Have no fear. Bush knows what he's doing. Recently, I've read a lot about Roberts and he looks good to me.

On my post you responded to, I inserted several Texas Hold 'Em terms in response to a previous post.

Funny, they didn't mind being spun on a rape case.

Reporter: Pstt, I heard Bush is going to nominate Clement.

WH source: Oh, you know about it.

Reporter: Is it true?

WH source: I heard that, too.

Misled children. The horror !

LOL

And the irony of it is: When Rove tried to straighten out a reporter that took bad info and was running with it, they attacked Rove. What motivation would there be to try to do the Press any more favors???

Shihhh ! Reporters now want their own special level of citizenship (shield law). Next they'll want their own casinos.

This and the entire Rove story make reporters look like powerless children: "Don't blame US! The adults told us somethin' and we just HAD to write it!" They look like fools who simply write down what others say and have neither the ability nor the inclination to think and research. Their whining self-justificaiton--that they HAD to blow a covert agent's cover (when what they were REALLY doing was spilling her name because they thought they could blame it on the Administration)--exposes them as partisan hacks, plain as that. And being played on the SC nomination shows they jump at the chance for sensational headlines when they should research and get on the record sources.

Let's see, the last time this White House tried to warn off some reporters about a bogus story, the MSM has insisted that Bush et al. attacked Joe Wilson -- and have brought us to Rovegate.

That worked out well for Bush, didn't it?

They're lucky I don't run that p;ace; I'd never tell them another thing.

They weren't played.

They maliciously and calculatedly "spun" Rove's cautionary words.

BTW, see related post:

I don't think it's worked out that badly. The Dems and the MSM look even dumber than they did before and must all feel even more impotent against the evil genius.
