If only Bush would sign Kyoto!
Oh ya, and get the Senate to ratify it even after voting it down 95-0 already.

Are the two red spots systems developing? These things are huge. Living in Georgia, these things are getting rough. If they would move up to Colorado, we'd be ok.

Hurricane Alicia developed in the GOM very suddenly, although it was only a strong two it caught many people off guard.

Don't these all start as tropical depressions of the west coast of Africa?
Nope. All you need are the right ingredients of low pressure, warm water, low upper level wind shear, and a few other things and these develop. Classical Cape Verde Hurricanes come from depressions off of Africa. Most September and October storms are this type. Normally, early season storms form closer to North America or the Caribbean.

Maybe this year we'll make it through the entire alphabet of hurricane names.
