The minor explosions used detonators only, a BBC reporter said.

In addition, a Number 26 bus in Hackney Road in Bethnal Green had its windows blown out by a blast. There were no injuries.

I may not be very skilled with explosives, but a detonator is strong enough to blow the windows out of a bus?

This should wake a few of the London libs up. Not holding my breath though.

If you are in it's balst radius (approx 5 feet), a detonator will wreck your day. they are essentially equivalent in explosive force to an M80 (the real M80's - not the crap that goes for M80's these days - or an 1/8 stick of dynamite.

Bus windows are generally designed to be pushed out easily in case the bus is in a wreck. The overpressure from even a small explosion would probably be enough to pop them out.
