I agree with you. I don't think people appreciate how close we are to being vicious animals - they think only the terrorists are capable of such behavior.

Yes, that's another failure of the terrorists -- failing to recognize that the people of the U.S. is the only country in the world that established a government to protect the people from each other and from enemies, foreign and domestic, and a few other administrative duties that we (as private Citizens pursuing happines, life and liberty) have neither the time nor inclination to get involved in.

But if gummint fails that primary directive, the people will just have to protect themselves, by whatever method.
