It has been a while since I have used cordite, but it is a very slow burning powder. I bet the bombers didn't realize that it would make a bad detonator.

That depends on what they were using as the main charge - that said, it seems to have been a bad choice.

If that's the case, then it sounds like armature hour at the mosque. Pardon my language everyone but these are bastards to the highest degree.
