KHARTOUM, July 21 (Reuters) - U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice demanded an apology from Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir after U.S. officials and journalists were manhandled at a meeting on Thursday. "It makes me very angry to be sitting with their president and have this happen," Rice told reporters on her plane before leaving Khartoum for Darfur. Earlier, she told reporters she wanted an apology. Sudanese officials shoved U.S. journalists away from the Bashir meeting and slammed the wooden doors to his palace in their faces. Some U.S. officials were also blocked for several minutes before the Sudanese agreed to allow Rice and aides in. The media was later allowed to witness briefly the talks. Condi shoulda just socked him in the nose.
Do you have a working link for this? Thanks.
She may not have known about the incident at the time. I know that Madeleine Halfbright would never have asked for any apology so as not to offend the thugs.
Just kidding (sorta). But it would have been fitting for her to tell the guy off.
Did you see the video of her coming down the stairs of her plane? What a fox!
Thank you.
We deserve it.
We should have sent gunships over there, long ago, to teach them to stop killing Christians.
These Arabs who have gone there are radicalizing the Muslim segment; they're getting cocky enough to do this to our leaders.
This is God's way of saying: "What the hell are you waiting for"?
These mutts need to be taught civility. IMO
I would congratulate the security forces for manhandling the journalists.

KHARTOUM, July 21 (AFP) -- US officials and press accompanying US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice on a trip to Sudan said they were "manhandled" by security staff at President Omar al-Beshir's residence on Thursday.
US officials said the security men tried to prevent them and the press from entering the meeting, and tried to confiscate tapes from a National Public Radio reporter, before Rice's spokesman Sean McKormack and others intervened.
Jim Wilkinson, senior adviser to Rice, said he was grabbed and thrown against the wall at the entrance to the residence before he bulled his way through with Rice's personal assistant in tow behind him.
"Freedom of the press is wonderful thing and we don't appreciate being manhandled at the front door," a fuming Wilkinson told reporters.
"Diplomacy 101 says you don't rough your guests up, especially the press."
Since we haven't come to the aid of the Christians being killed while we rescued Saddam's muslims who were afflicted I'm not certain how we can justly complain.
If you rub Hillary, you're likely to get bad case of leprosy or something.
She looks so damn sexy when she is getting off the plane...DAMN!!!
Well... thats half right. I think etiquette allows beating the shit out of New York Times employees.
I think this goes to show how much a creep this guy in Sudan is and how worthless his promise to stop the genocide is.
Andrea Mitchell (NBC) is on the Imus program now. She tried to ask a question during the press conference and was yanked away by security guards.
