Terror investigators hunting the London bombing mastermind are to question a suspected Al Qaeda planner held in Pakistan.

British-born Haroon Rashid Aswad(Aswat) was seized at a religious school with a suicide bomb belt, explosives and GBP 13,000 in cash.

Security sources in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, claim he had up to 20 telephone conversations with London bombers Mohammad Sidique Khan and Shehzad Tanweer. One of these is believed to have been just hours before the blasts.

The UK's DAILY MAIL reports on Thursday: Security sources say he trained at an Afghan camp which was visited by Osama Bin Laden and that he is linked to two of Bin Laden's planners and an Al Qaeda suspect held in America.

U.S. investigators have been told that Aswad attended the Khalden camp in Afghanistan, favoured by foreign terror trainees. British shoe bomber Richard Reid is among those who attended the camp and it has been reported that London bomber Khan also went there.

If we go get him....Pakistan blows up...and the jihadists seize power....we are screwed.

Yep. We must never forget that Pakistan has nuclear weapons. Happened on Bill Clinton's world "apologize-for-the-U.S." tour, otherwise known as his presidency.

I honestly believe we know right where he is(Porter Goss hinted at it)....but if we tried to take him....Mushy falls and we lose Pakistan.

Glad it's not my call.

I think you're right, Dog. I think that if it comes down to a choice between scooping up Bin Laden and letting Pakistan' s nukes fall into radical Islamofreak hands, we need to leave Bin Laden right where he is. However, should he ever decided to move out of his rat hole, well, that's another matter.

very true.

but I still think that if we knew exactly which house he was in - and could take him out "clean" with a drone type missile attack - I don't think Pakistan would erupt in such a manner with a "quick kill". what's in it for the jihadis? they will never get their hands on those nukes, the US would move right away, so would India. Hey, it won't be pretty.

I don't give a good gal dang. Here is a story clearly identifying Osama Bin Laden as being somewhere specifically.

Really? Somewhere specifically? Okay, bomb everything within 200 miles.

What a load!

What I need is a delivery truck to pull up in front of my place of business and a cameraman and PR guy to announce that I am the proud winner of Osama Bin Ladens (semi-abused, but still identifiable) head.

STOP WASTING MY TIME. please I'm asking you.

Ever see how a cow pile attracts flies?

I think we know where he is and we are catching flies coming and going.

THANK YOU. Either OBL is dead, or he's being protected by some other Islamic potentate.

They hide on yachts.

Compare that to how many we've caught in Iran.

Al Qaeda is a Sunni organization. Iran is a Shiite country. One of the reasons few Al Qaeda have been caught in Iran is that there aren't many. Remember for example, Al Qaeda in Iraq has killed a lot more Iranian-backed Shiites than it has Americans.

That's probably how Britain found these guys. I'm betting some poor immigrant muslim families are suddenly sporting fat bank accounts and making nice purchases.

Pakistan blows up...and the jihadist seize power...

Then we nuke Pakistan and about 50% of our problems are solved...sound like a great plan to me.

Muslims had better take action, before it's "open season" om Muslims. I imagine they should be able to figure out what this means.

Okay, bomb everything within 200 miles

You can bomb all day and night in the Afghan / Pak border region - It won't do the trick -

It is an ugly place for war that takes boots on the ground getting up close and personal to kill most of these animals.

Don't agree with you on this one - The minute we know "exactly" where UBL is he will be taken down - Without a doubt in my mind -

Musharraf doesn't fall with the capture of UBL - UBL's stature and following will fall once he is taken out (not grow). It is a psyoclogical reality that and underlying premise of him being an ultimate failure or loser will take hold with a large segment once he is killed.

I think many incorrectly speculate that Pakistan could catch UBL simply if they wanted to. This just isn't the case.

Why don't we just catch Zarqawi in Iraq? Or Al-Duri? Or a number of over HVT's within Afghanistan (that we know are living in Stan). Because it simply isn't that easy to do. And especially so for a Nation like Pak which doesn't have anywhere near our capabilities.

... however I still think he is in Iran.

impossible.. for one, he is a staunch Wahhabi Sunni.. they hate shias as much as they hate "Kafirs" (Hindus and Buddhists) and "Dhimmis" (Christians and jews).

There were some mullahs in Pakistan who even declared all Shias to be "kafir" !

Do not trust Musharraf.

The cynic in me says he is in no hurry to capture bin Laden. As long as bin Laden is on the loose in Pakistan, Musharraf has leverage to pry concessions and money out of Washington. When Washington starts to become impatient, he simply cranks up the pressure, kills or captures some of bin Laden's lieutenants, and assures Washington that he is oh-so-close to busting bin Laden himself. Just six more months and $100 million in aid, and he'll nab him for sure. And on, an on, and on, just like Lucy holding the football for Charlie Brown to kick.

Once bin Laden is caught or killed, there is no more cash cow for Musharraf to milk.
