My prediction:

• the confirmation will be X days long (-- doesn't matter, could be fifteen years long, same thing would happen)
• at the very end of this time some (non-)issue will spring up magically, like Diana from Zeus' brow
• "concerned" Dems like Barbara Boxer will plead that they need more time and shouldn't rush to judgment, it's a lifetime appointment, what's the hurry, blah blah blah....

...and this time the GOP won't buckle.
