Iron Hugh Sits Down for a Six Hour SCOTUS Special.
The Texas head-fake has thrown a lot of sand in a lot of gears among the lefty blogs. Now they are in deep panic because CNN spotted Judge Luttig in D.C. in the company of his family. Heh. Building the audience for the announcement even as fear and confusion course through the opponents' ranks.
I love the timing as well, as it gives the center-right new media a head-start before the fever swamp begins emitting its gas. Tough to go the floor of the Senate, ala Teddy in '87, when the lights are out and the nets want to get back to prime time. The Nightline cume isn't what it used to be. Who will the left send to swing the bat with Katie Couric in the AM? Won't matter. First Bill Bennett, then former Supreme Court clerk laura Ingraham will be flooding America with background on the nominee, which will continue throughout the day. The center-right blogs will feast on the excesses of the Koskids etc.
I'll be broadcasting a special three hour additional show tonight, which will be live after the president's announcement. It will be carried on many of the stations that carry me live and on all of the stations on which I am ordinarily on at that time (9 to midnight EST) tape-delayed. If you would like to listen online, try the "Listen Live" link at KSKY in Dallas or the "Listen Live" link at WIND in Chicago. Guests will include K-Lo from NationalReview and Terry Eastland from the Weekly Standard, and law profs John Eastman, Erwin Chemerinsky, Jonathan Adler, and Glenn Reynolds.
UPDATE: Center-right blogs to watch: ConfirmThem.com, RedState.org, Bench Memos. Lefty blogs to watch: Think Progress (nice line-up of posters there) and ACS Blog.

He's on to Iraq. He'll be back to SCOTUS after 7:30 or so and then for the rest of the night.
Hugh Hewitt - man of iron?
bumpmark
Politics version of the NFL draft... who's the #1 pick going to be?
Has Hugh or any guests commented on Luttig's chances yet?
I'm reading on another thread that Ann Compton says she has confirmed it's not him.
Of course the same people probably confimed Clement last night.
Hugh's marathon shows are classics. I still remember election night with Mark Steyn, etc.
But I could do without all the whining, whining, whining from the callers in the first hour. "Wahhh, wahhh, I don't like Souter, it's going to be a Souter and I'm going to stomp my feet and throw a temper tantrum."
I don't get how people like that make it out of the house every day.
White Brown Black Yellow Old Young Male Female - don't matter.
110% PROLIFE
That is what matters, everything else is secondary. Because
-without Life, nothing else matters.
Will be switching to Hugh as soon as Levin's show is over.
It's like election night all over again.
Bush will make announcement tonight, live, then jump up and down on couch.
Note: This "leak" will definitely change at least three more times before, and twice after, the actual announcement....that is all...
Hugh just said something about Roberts, but I was coming in from the outside so I missed it. (Give me a break, it's beautiful out...)
Did anyone hear what Hugh said?
Besides- isn't tonight something of an anniversary for Teddy?
In constitutionalist terms, I'd phrase that "100% Originalist", myself. I absolutely agree with the sentiment!
"Will be switching to Hugh as soon as Levin's show is over.

Where can I hear Mark on the web?
Does Mark have a blog?
"Besides- isn't tonight something of an anniversary for Teddy?"
I think it's tomorrow...along with Neil & Buzz & Mike going to the Moon.
Wouldn't it be funny if the Chap anniv. played a role in the Roberts anouncement/rollout...?
Kinda shuts up old Waterboard...
It's Roberts:

COMPLETELY DOWN! Fillibuster *EVERYTHING* if they try to go nuclear on you! This is the fundamental battle we've all elected you to fight. This is where we expect you to fight to your fullest abilities to win!
Don't let any business go through the Senate or the House unless they pull back this nomination.
Thanks!"
