Former CNN anchor Bill Hemmer joins Fox News Associated Press
NEW YORK Bill Hemmer, dumped last month by CNN as co-host of its morning show, has joined archrival Fox News Channel as a daytime anchor.

Once one of CNN's rising stars, Hemmer was called the "chad lad" following his coverage of the Florida recount in 2000. CNN paired him with Paula Zahn as American Morning co-host in 2002, before she was replaced by Soledad O'Brien.
CNN said it wanted to "improve the chemistry" in the morning when it replaced Hemmer with Miles O'Brien this spring. The New York-based Hemmer was reportedly offered a White House correspondent's job at CNN but declined.
A Cincinnati native, Hemmer began his career as a weekend sports anchor in that city.
Hemmer will be a correspondent along with anchoring daytime news coverage, Fox said Tuesday.
She wanted a primetime show on Fox, Fox laughed and said no and she went to MSNBC.
Any particular reason why?
Bill Hemmer is 40.
Ditto.
Good! She seemed to me to be little more than a tabloid trasher.
Rita is brain dead, just like the weekend fools on Fox & Friends!!!
I knew it. I made that call when it was posted that he left CNN in early June. To echo myself, this guy was pretty well composed and had a wry and dry sense of humor.
I don't, actually. :(
Can you summarize?
More face time for Kirin
Hemmer had more intelligence in his tie than Soledad has in her entire self!
She is insufferable.
When did she arrive at FNC?
I was living in Tallahassee in 2000, and we got used to seeing reporters everywhere that November. The only two that I've never heard a negative word about are Bill Hemmer and David Bloom. Both just all-around nice guys, who didn't throw their weight around or act like celebrities.
Has anybody noticed that when a new personality, no matter where they came from, joins FOX their visibility and personal rating automatically goes up? If that personality gets his/her own show, that show will automatically be the highest rated for that hour in cable news networks.
If a personality leaves, no matter how visible or high-rated when at FOX, they automatically hit bottom. As an example, if Paula Zahn was still at FOX, she would have the highest rating at whatever hour she was on. If Greta were to leave for another network, she would also tank.
Lib women apparently have no taste. He's not hot, IMHO.
There's really someone out there named Topsy Taylor?
Team him up with Kiran Chetry, and you have a winning combo.
