(JND) - As I sat down to read through some scripture Thursday night, I reached for the remote to turn off the already-turned-on TV.
It was then that a sit-down session between Jon Stewart and Howrad Dean on Comedy Central's The Daily Show caught my attention. Howard Dean speaking on national television...it's like watching a car crash in slow-motion.
I couldn't resist.
I set down my Bible, turned on the laptop, and prepared my fingers to record what sound bytes might spew from Dean's mouth. I didn't have to wait for long.
"I have yet to find a reference to gay marriage in the Bible." said Dean...
...I'm not the first, and I won't be the last to say this: "Howard Dean, you sir are a complete idiot."
...In a Q&A session by GotQuestions.org: "The Bible clearly and consistently tells us that homosexual activity is a sin (Genesis 19:1-13; Leviticus 18:22; Romans 1:26-27; I Cor. 6:9). God does not create a person with homosexual desires. A person becomes a homosexual because of sin( Rom 1:24-27), and ultimately because of their own choice. A person may be born with a greater susceptibility to homosexuality, just as people are born with a tendency to violence and other sins. That does not excuse the person choosing to sin by giving into their sinful desires. If a person is born with a greater susceptibility to anger/rage, does that make it right for them to give into those desires? Of course not! The same is true for homosexuality."
The Q&A also goes on to say, "To give sanction to homosexual marriage would be to give approval to that lifestyle, which the Bible clearly and consistently condemns as sinful. I believe that Christians should stand firmly against the idea of gay marriage....

Lev 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.Just the other day there was a thread about more scrolls found in Israel, like the Dead Sea scrolls. They think the scrolls are Leviticus.
I think it's a warning. God is saying "Man kind! Wake up! Read this book again!"

Maybe Dean is one of those anti Semetic Christians, whose Bible will exclude the Old Testament.

Howie, that's like saying there's no law against giving a medical license to a witch doctor.

I tend to think that statements like that are so far off base that it actually degrades the bible to even respond with the bible. It is a pig sitting in the mud and there is no reason to cast a pearl there.

I am no expert on islam but I have seen homos in iraq and heard stories about afghanistan. they call thursday "man-day" supposedly they can have sex with men until they are 28 then I guess after 28 they are queer and put to death. they also don't look at sex with men as sex, sex is only between man and woman..or camel

Homosexual sexual intercourse carries a high risk of disease, this is recognized in Scripture where gay men are said to receive in their bodies the due penalty for their error. The laws of Nature always devise a means to show us the error of our ways.
These laws were later codified into many of our state statutes.
The recently struck down sodomy statute in Texas was a perfect example of codified natural law.
That is...until the BRB of the supreme court made their decision.

You have to remember that Dean is a Dimocrat...and when faced with a fact they don't like Dims just parse the wording until the meaning is changed to what they want. So in this case, Homosexual MARRIAGE is not specifically mentioned in the bible, and that is correct. Homosexuality, however is. So if he focuses on the marriage portion and ignores the biblical pronouncements against homosexuality then he can arrive at his statement.

Good article. I'm wondering, what bible is Dean reading?
To: Laissez-faire capitalist
The mere mention of the name Howard Dean has forever created a conditioned stimulus in me. I automatically get the giggles without ever having to read an entire article about him.
Howard Dean, the screaming monkey....YeeeeeeAhhhhh!
