"I agree with you about abortion being murder. But you guys have to get a grip! You don't have enemies here, quit acting like you do."

If it's your child on the chopping block, would you 'get a grip'? I think people are entirely too cold and too worshipping of the Baby Killing Law when it comes to abortion.

It is filled with the usual doom and gloomers ranting about how Bush isn't going to appoint a judge that is a perfect conservative.

#####That's because I'm afraid Supreme Court Justices have become tantamount to American popes, and I think that's wrong.#####

That's the sad part. It shouldn't be that big of a deal. If you had told people in 1950 that five decades later Supreme Court nominees would be a huge deal because they're the ones who get to decide our laws on abortion, school prayer, sodomy, gay "marriage", and the membership practices of the Boy Scouts, they'd have thought you were insane.

Did you see any of his press conference this morning? He took a good shot at David Gregory. When some ditzy reporter who I'd never seen before first asked about Rove then he let her ask a second question and she asked if the nominee was "Cle-MENT", the President asked her if she spoke French! He's in a feisty mood today.

My gosh, this press feeding frenzy is completely out of proportion. They are now reporting on the clothes of the family of a judge........

I think it's exciting and quite fun to have a few hours of mad speculation. It's been a pretty boring news summer until now IMO.

We are at war, and I am concerned about spending, but I follow the Senate and they are holding the line, things are going well believe it not. I know you don't but they are. You pessimism is not attractive.

It's gotta be a woman. Just imagine how indignant the folks over at NOW would be if it were another white male.

Yeah, President Bush should really take their reaction into account, shouldn't he? So I guess we're stuck with five men, two women, and one one black man forever?

Is there anything worth reading on this thread, or is it filled with the usual doom and gloomers ranting about how Bush isn't going to appoint a judge that is a perfect conservative?

No, there isn't.

This is one of the most disgusting threads that I have ever seen here. I believe that some of us would not know what to do if we didn't have something to complain about.

I only have one question for all those concerned about Bush's choice, WHOEVER that turns out to be:

Why did so many of you make your support of the President conditional on whether or not he pleased you 100% of the time? Those of you who are married; does your spouse please you 100% of the time? Yet you remain committed, do you not?

I tend to assume that when you vote for someone for President, you do so with enough intelligence and maturity to accept that you wont always be pleased by what that person does.

Now with that; anyone who thinks that Bush intends to break from what he promised in terms of his selection, is either an idiot, or has not been paying attention.
