San Diego's Acting Mayor Convicted
By ELLIOT SPAGAT, Associated Press Writer 8 minutes ago
A federal jury on Monday convicted San Diego's new acting mayor and a city councilman of taking payoffs from a strip club owner to help repeal the "no-touching" ordinance at nude clubs, the latest blow to a city already awash in scandal.
Michael Zucchet, who became interim mayor over the weekend, was found guilty of conspiracy, extortion and fraud on his first business day in office. He will almost certainly have to resign.
Councilman Ralph Inzunza, who was also convicted of the same charges, is also likely to step down.
The jury also returned guilty verdicts against former Clark County, Nev., Commissioner Lance Malone, who worked for strip club owner Michael Galardi to repeal San Diego's ban preventing nude dancers and patrons from touching each other.

Let's make a wild guess as to party affiliation:
http://sandiego.indymedia.org/es/2003/10/101707.shtml
Inzunza had arrived at the rally while street poet Brian Babb was reading, and the corporate-media TV crews covering the event flocked around him and asked for an immediate interview. He told them instead that they should film his speech to the crowd -- and during his speech he launched a strongly worded attack on the corporate media in general and the San Diego Union-Tribune (which endorsed him in his City Council campaign but has since called for his resignation after he was indicted on fraud charges in connection with allegedly illegal campaign contributions from strip-club owners and employees) in particular. "The conservative media here, many of them who are here today, they don't get that message out because they're owned by the corporate rich," Inzunza said.

The City Charter kicks them out automatically. Bye Bye. That's good -- I can't believe that "he will almost certainly have to resign" even had to be included in the article.

"The conservative media here, many of them who are here today, they don't get that message out because they're owned by the corporate rich," Inzunza said. LOL! And I guess San Diego city hall is owned by tittie club operators from the look of things.

An unforunate choice of words for this topic.
