Excellent scout - This is the kind of person the ACLU doesn't want the Boy Scouts turning out, people who know right from wrong without the media telling them.
Their's a reason the first man to walk on the moon was an eagle scout. ( The eagle has landed )

Stories like this make me glad to have spent six years wearing the uniform of the Scouts, and then the Explorers. They make me thankful again of the dozens of dedicated Scout leaders, the finest being Dr. Carl A. Zapfee, Scoutmaster of Troop 35 in Baltimore, Md.
And thankful for the principles of the Scouts: "On my honor I will do my best for God and my country, and to obey the Scout oath." It's been almost fifty years since I said that in uniform and gave the three-fingered salute. Hope I got it right. It has been exactly fifty years since I earned my Webelos.

Lots of questions such as why a year to raise $200, why didnt the cemetery take the initiative to have a stone placed there, etc.,etc.......
But then again, had it all been too easy, the little scout would be less closer to being a man than he is today. God does work in mysterious ways....

Thanks for posting.
Would be cool or what, if a Freeper, reading this story said...."Wait as minute, didn't we have an (uncle, brother, friend) in the Navy with a name just like that?"
Nah, never happens in real life, does it?

Hi, I’m the person that wrote this story. This was probably one of my best and the most touching story I had the privilege to write. Glad to see everyone else liked it too!
