Blond Hair Found on Aruba Shore to Be Tested in Case of Missing U.S. Teen By Margaret Wever Associated Press Writer
ORANJESTAD, Aruba (AP) - Investigators will conduct DNA tests on blond hair attached to duct tape that was found along the northeast coast of Aruba to see if it came from missing U.S. teenager Natalee Holloway, authorities said Monday.
A park ranger found the duct tape while collecting trash Sunday on rocks at Boca Tortuga, an inlet in front of a series of caves, said National Park Ranger Service spokeswoman Dilma Arends.
Boca Tortuga is on the opposite side of Aruba from where Holloway, was last seen in public.
The hair will be sent to the Netherlands for DNA analysis, said police spokesman Edwin Comemencia. Aruba, a Dutch protectorate, doesn't have a lab to conduct the genetic testing.
Extensive searches by Dutch marines, Aruban police, and some 2,000 volunteers have found no trace of the 18-year-old Holloway, of Mountain Brook, Ala., who was last seen in public in the early hours of May 30 - at the end of a high school graduation trip to the Dutch Caribbean island.
A volunteer group from Dickinson, Texas, that had searched for three weeks left the island on Sunday.

right!... Ask Scott Peterson
Well, let's see - I am expressing my OPINION. Am I only allowed to post on sites I agree with? Really - do you think I want the guilty to go free and kill again? That is silly.
Most news stories are beaten into the ground - that is a fact. I would complain about them all if I could but I don't have the time or the energy.
Gambling by both suspect and father. Father discharged as failed judge. What income now? Gambling debts? White slavery captive sold? = payoff of gambling debts?
Your post makes no sense. You criticize the constant reporting of a story and yet you join in to discuss same story????
Yes you are entitled to your opinion, but why contribute it to a story you feel has been "beaten into the ground"? I guess your opinion was meant to make everyone who is interested in discussing the story look foolish?
If I don't like a story I change the channel. If I don't like a forum about a particular subject I ignore it.
If everyone who felt like you didn't opine or didn't watch the coverage maybe they would get their wish and the story would go away. This tragic story will continue to be covered because there are many who are interested in hearing about it. There are also many who hope to keep the Aruban authorities feet to the fire by keeping up the glaring media coverage.
Once the public's interest disappears the story will fade away.......
and then you can breathe a sigh of relief.
Thanks for the speech but you sound somewhat hysterical. Get a grip.
antceecee: I agree with you. I don't like Jennifer Aniston. So, I don't watch her. But I don't watch her and then complain about it.
Fox, CNN, MSNBC are entertainment and they will broadcast stories (to the extreme sometimes) if they think viewers are interested (remember JFK Jr and the missing airplane, Chandra Levy, Scott Peterson, etc). That is why the channel changer was invented! If I don't want to hear about Natalee Holloway, I change channels.
BTW, I don't watch Fox regarding Natalee because they broadcast the same story over and over again (including wild speculations). So, why do I read the Natalee posts on Freep? Because I rely on Freep posters to inform me of important breaks in the case. Generally, I simply scroll over the ludicrous posts (personal attacks against other posters are the worst offenders).
And is the news coverage of Natalee Holloway any more ludicrous than watching Neil Cavuto interviewing people who know nothing about what they are talking about? Or Chris Matthews screaming at people that disagree with him? OR .... Its just entertainment ... and not always entertaining!
Well said.
Lately I've been changing the channel on FOX quite a bit. When I start to get that 'weary' feeling while listening to them spout off about the story du jour... then I know it's time to move on.
Like you I love to read the posts on FR and get a feel for what is really happening on a story.
No, not hysterical Cathy, just trying to help you understand my position. Now that you've decided to go personal I think I'll say goodbye to you and change the channel....
I heard on Greta's show the same Park Ranger found more duct tape with red marks on it! They found it odd the same Ranger found more stuff. Not sure if second piece of duct tape found in same area. Thoughts?
Thank you for following your own advice. You could have skipped my original post and saved yourself some time.
Have a great weekend.
Process everything.
My guess is that if the tape is proven to be connected to the girl...justice really can't be served because there is still no direct connection.
I suspect that all three of these boys will walk away. But I suspect that they will all likely disappear within 12 months and not to be found anywhere on earth. There are more than enough Bama guys around to ensure that. I think thats about the only way to bring "justice" into this picture. Sadly, it is the wrong attitude, but the cards are stacked against a realistic outcome.
the fact this tape has been found on the opposite side of the island is pertinent to the fact all three boys have lied and jovan has changed his story 9-15 times, according to reports...if you had raped and murdered someone and now needed a lie as cover up, would you tell authorities exactly where this took place, or lie and tell them the exact opposite location from where the crime took place?
a bama guy doing his "justice work" will eliminate all three rapists in less than 12 months? wishful thinking...they would have to fly to aruba and the airlines don't trade tickets for beer cans, fella, and there is no way to walk there...besides, what if the dad did it?
