My wife and I know guy who was Army Spec Ops in Nam and still is a "consultant", last week he was saying that the bomb builder had every bomb listed on a speed calling list on his cell phone. When he speed dialed cellphones in each bomb, he set off the bombs. His theory on re the bus bomb is the Jihadist had a change of mind and riding the bus elsewhere when his bomb got the call.
He said that many of those involved in the 9/11 event had no idea that they were on a suicide mission.
Bomb builders commonly add "anti removal devices" in the circuitry, so that any attempt to "turn off" the bomb might have caused it to detonate.
Why he didn't just leave the bomb somewhere and walk away, I don't know.
I'd love to have a transcript or tape of his thoughts over the last couple hours of his life.

That would have been a brilliant plan - but as every Londoner knows is certainly not what happened on the 7 July attacks. How can I be so sure? Easy: THERE IS NO CELL RECEPTION YET ON THE LONDON TUBE!. His speed dial to allah would have been met with voicemail.
Just wanted to put that 'cell phone' story to bed - it has been doing the rounds on American websites since the event.
