Chris Matthews Irked Over Plamegate Fizzle
NewsMAx ^ | 7/17/05 | Limbacher

TV talker Chris Matthews, who was one of several NBC News personalities hyping the Valerie Plame-Joseph Wilson scandal, sounded dumbfounded on Sunday, now that the imbroglio now seems unlikely to sink White House deputy chief of staff Karl Rove's career.

"Will Karl Rove be forced to leave the White House?" Matthews asked, before protesting: "This is unbelievable. Ten of our [12] experts at this panel think this guy is gonna make it through."

Coalition

The Plamegate-obsessed host then wondered: "Is this guy so big he can't be knocked off?"

Matthews Show panelist, Newsweek reporter Howard Fineman, did his best to assure the audience that the scandal ginned up last week by his magazine hadn't laid an egg, insisting, "That vote probably proves [Rove is] going to be out soon."

When the Plamegate media hype was still intensifying on Tuesday, NBC foreign affairs correspondent Andrea Mitchell responded to completely unfounded speculation that president Bush was involved in the scandal, musing to radio host Don Imus, "How do you spell impeachment?"

But with the air coming out of the Plamegate balloon, the NBC newswer hasn't mentioned the 'I' word since.

I can't decide who's wig I'd like to throw a match into first... Andrea's, Judy Woodwhiff's or Mo Dowd's.

"Is this guy so big he can't be knocked off?"

Not unless he's actually done something wrong.

That Mitchell quote--coming after she admitted that Plame's ID was an open secret in DC--is reprehensible.

No Chris, you are just too small to knock him off.

Chris Mathews is like that dog turd that the inconsiderate neighbor leaves on your lawn every day after walking his/her mutt.

They are required by law to pick it up, but somehow it ends up stuck to your shoe.

I don't even find him mildly amusing.

The leftist MSM is a real business tragedy onto themselves. Rather than switching horses, as they should do, upon which their ratings would soar, they continue to lie, cheat, distort, spin, and cover up for the miserable, irrelevant twisted left.

Wasn't Dan Rather enough of a "business model" for them, that the execs would get smart??? They have been exposed -- change you idiots...

I mean, shucks, any hayseed with half a brain could see through this charade by the "Traitor/Treason" Democrat Party. Poor Chris Matthews, he was born less a brain and, much worse, no common sense or street smarts whatsoever. Both he and David Gregory are complete buttheads over this whole fiasco!!! End of story! And, remember folks, no one watches "Hardball" anyway, unless they want a good laugh. And, Howard Fineman has never, I mean never, not once, ever been right about anything!!! End of story!!!

Rush warned us right after the election that the Dems would look for any excuse to mention the 'I' word...and, it looks like they have completely fabricated a lie so that they can do so. There will be more...just laugh at them.
