Is this supposed to make anybody feel better? Or, it is simply to make sure that the next set of bombers don't die and that they can return for a rerun? The best this might bring about is for some of the idiot bombers to distrust their bosses but it isn't going to work on the ones who want to die anyhow.

Frankly, if that's the case, better we let them die if we can't stop them first.

True, but if this can prevent the "willing to kill but not die themselves" fanatics from strapping on a bomb, that's still an improvement. And on top of that it raises questions about the trustworthiness of *all* terrorist leaders. Even the suicide bombers might think twice if they learn that their "good Muslim brothers" are lying to their Muslim underlings. "If they lie about that and betray their Muslim followers, what else are they lying about?"
