Is Rove still Bush's man?

WASHINGTON — Karl Christian Rove, 54, has spent his entire career in Republican politics. With an open door to the Oval Office, he has no intention of stopping now.

His goal, he has told friends, is to remain at the side of the President, his friend for 32 years, until 2008, to make sure the Republican Party is firmly entrenched in power for years to come. Without doubt, he is the most influential person in the Republican Party and the White House, except for President Bush.

In the center of a maelstrom over discussing the identity of a CIA operative with at least one reporter two years ago, Mr. Rove is placidly going about his daily grind, co-workers say. The man known for hard-knuckled defensive politics has said nothing publicly about the current controversy, although every day brings a new phalanx of Democrats before TV cameras demanding he be fired. Former presidential candidate Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts, Hillary Clinton of New York, and Chuck Schumer of New York all have demanded Mr. Bush fire his top adviser.

'The DNC Chairman Howard Dean, seeing an opening to attack the White House, this past week launched an attack on Rove, insisting he be fired. At a fund-raiser, Mr. Dean demanded, "Who do you value more, Mr. President, do you value intelligence operatives defending the United States of America or do you value political operatives from Texas?"

Mr. Bush, who has repeatedly expressed support for Mr. Rove, most likely has no intention of having to make such a choice.'

Howard Dean has also recently been dumped on by the ToledoBlade:

"Speaking before the Congressional Black Caucus, Howard said Republicans could fill a room with people of color, "only if they had the hotel staff in here."

Mr. Dean the question is why was a WMD's operative at the CIA, using her governmental position to protect Saddam? And Mr. Dean who knew and when did they know that the CIA was being used to cover up for Saddam?

Democrats want EVERY member of the Bush Administration fired from their jobs, up to and including George W. Bush himself. So their call for the sacking of Karl Rove has not much impact, and surely will not sway the President's opinion on the matter one bit.

The purity of Rove's motives is not a question here, as there is no degree of guilt or innocence established yet. There are only serious-SOUNDING charges being brought up, but nothing substantial has been offered. No smoking gun, no incriminating documentation, no reliable witnesses, and no known harm has ever surfaced.

Meanwhile, the Bush Administration has a country to run.

I posted this elsewhere, so disregard if you've read it.
Fitzgerald is a Democrat appointed by the president to be the Special Prosecutor to investigate the Plame kerfuffle, with pressure from the NYT, which supposedly wanted to find out that Karl Rove had broken the law to bring down the Bush administration.

Miller, the reporter working for the NYT on any story to bring down the president, allegedly is the reporter who, a couple of years ago, inadvertently warned an Islamist charity that Fitzgerald was coming to seize records to prove it was giving money to terrorists. That gave the charity time to shred all evidence and spoiled Fitzgerald's case. That interrupted Fitzgerald's career advance, naturally.

Karl Rove the genius is certain he did nothing wrong in his conversation with allegedly ethical alleged journalist Cooper, so he signs a release giving everyone access to all comments having to do with the Plame kerfuffle. GWB, the eminent politician, hires a Democrat to investigate to be sure there will be no cries of coverup, but he appoints one with a grudge for NYT reporter Miller (who Karl Rove did not speak to).

Eager for high visibility, Democrat Fitzgerald pursues an investigation of a much-hated Republican administration largely on behalf of his own party's agenda but, finding that genius Karl Rove had done nothing reprehensible, turns his sights upon allegedly ethical alleged journalists Cooper and Miller.

Cooper poops everything he's got, Cooper walks, Time magazine publishes, the left goes nuts, and Miller goes to jail.

Fitzgerald nemesis Miller knows something the NYT wants to remain hidden, the NYT receives something from someone somewhere who knows what is going on inside the Special Prosecutor's office and prints a story that was supposed to suggest Rove is guilty but which ends up basically exonerating him (Friday morning).

So here we are, with DU crazies suggesting that Wilson is a Rove agent, and we have to wait for the Fitzgerald probe to complete.

Our only concern should be that the Special Prosecutor does not take off down paths that do not involve Karl Rove the genius or the President himself. There are idiots in every organization, after all.

That would be my first guess.

"Sure appeared that way on Friday. Do these men look worried?"

They actually look like they are having a ball with the dems meltdown and also that they have the real answers to the entire story.

BTW, what happened to the failure in Afghanistan, the 16 words, Ohio election fraud, the Rather memo, DSM, etc???? That's right...... NOTHING. Just like this. The dems are so eager to unseat GWB or anyone on his team they jump on any bait no matter how tiny.

I think that the real game is for the Prosecutor to assemble thousands of pages of dispositions from Administration officials (and the more meaningless the topic, the more likely that memories may be jumbled), and then look for discrepancies, and we'll be looking at perjury charges. Just a hunch.

Geezer,
No offense but your whole thesis is wrong because you start with an incorrect premise, to wit: that Fitzgerald is a Democrat.

Patrick Fitzgerald is not a democrat. He was appointed US Attorney for the Norther District of Illinois by President Bush. He was nominated for that position by Senator Peter Fitzgerald, R - IL (no relation) on September 19, 2001.

And since his appointment he has literally drove the crooks in Chicago, oops I mean Mayor Daley and his cronies, into apoplectic fits. Every insider in City Hall is shaking in their boots waiting for the next indictment to come down.

And besides the RATS, Fitzgerald has also went after the corrupt RINO's - specifically ex-gov George Ryan and his little criminal enterprise that was run out of the Governors Mansion and previously when Ryan was IL Secretary of State.

And the sole reason Fitzgerald WAS selected as Special Prosecutor is because he is beyond reproach. Wherever the investigation and evidence leads he will go.

And in years past, Fitzgerald worked under Rudy in NYC going after the Mafia.

And FYI, the RINO's (and The Combine) who run-ran the IL Republican party did not want Fitzgerald appointed US Attorney because they knew of his 'take no prisoner' stance on corruption.

In conclusion, Fitzgerald has been the best US Attorney to come to Chicago, maybe ever. And again, he isn't a DEMOCRAT.

I have been looking for a source for the assertion that Fitzgerald is a Democrat. Do you know a source for this? Thanks.

I sure hope future President George Allen keeps Rove on in Washington after he takes office in January, 2009.

Is that one of those persons of color with Pres. Bush that Howard Dean is talking about? He don't look like he's part of the kitchen or hotel staff.
