Iraq fuel truck bomb devastates town, kills 98 (terrorists indiscriminately genocides)

MUSAYYIB, Iraq (Reuters) - Stricken townspeople swept away the wreckage of a fuel truck bomb that killed 98 people south of Baghdad as three more suicide car bombers struck the Iraqi capital on Sunday in a relentless new campaign.

The overnight attack which devastated the highway town of Musayyib was the deadliest since the new Iraqi government took power in April and the highest death toll from a single car bomb since 125 people were killed in February in Hilla, also south of Baghdad.

Saturday's bombing prompted denunciations of the authorities in parliament and calls for local militia to take up arms.

Some 15 suicide bombers have struck within just over 48 hours in the capital and along the highway heading south in what al Qaeda's Iraq wing has declared is a new campaign to seize control of Baghdad.

Once again terrorist indiscriminitely genocides women, children, elderly, Shiite, and even the Sunni, just days after they killed children with a suicide bomber. They don't care who dies, even children were the victims. They only want to get their news spread out, and as long as it cause large mass of casualties, they would even attack children and Sunni people. The real weapon of mass destruction are the Saudi Arabia Wahabbis killing muslims on their own just to get 72 virgins and just to become news, and the Wahabbi community of Saudi Arabia funding them to kill muslims in Iraq.

Mass terror is its own message. The terrorists can't seize power but they can sow a lot of fear and uncertainty in the meantime.

Looks like the terrorists took a break so London could grab the headlines. Now they're back at "work" with a vengeance. Beyond tragic.

Maybe instead of the wussy word "terrorist" they should be called "genocidists".

Beyond hell. Maybe there is a hell worse than hell for these monsters.

Is this Muslim-on-Muslim slaughter getting any attention in the Arab media?
Is are they still only showing photos of the airstrike in Gaza?

I bet this goes over well with the population in Iraq -- kill the kids and anyone else who gets in the way. I wonder what the terrorist think the goal is, make everyone in Iraq want to kill them?

You know, a lot of cities in the US don't allow fuel delivery until after midnight. Sounds like a good policy to me.

This is getting beyond frightening. These car bombings now becoming the latest method of spreading terror in Iraq. I just can't believe that the location of where these car bombs are made can't be found. Surely they have to have some way of finding them. Baghdad isn't that big is it?

This daily stream of suicide bombings are supposed to make Iraq ungovernable. They are achieving that goal. You can't build a stable government in the face of a half dozen suicide bombings, and scores of additional "insurgent" attacks each and every day.

The Sunni's are harbouring these terrorist and insurgents from Syria all the way to Baghdad. We have not, from the beginning, had the will to do what it takes to put an end to this.

Eventually, the Shia will have had enough of our weak-kneed, haphazard effort. The Shia and Kurds will form their own alliances, and move to annhilate the Sunni's in Iraq. The resulting complete breakdown will be considered by the media first, and then the American and larger Western public as a total US failure.

You don't go into a foreign country and attempt to bend it to your will without the willingness to be as brutal as it takes to achieve this. We were not willing to shatter the spirit of the Sunni to the point they realized they had to go along with the coalition's program.

Arguments that most Sunni are okay and there are just a small percentage of bad apples are pure fantasy in my view.

That's because the majority of the Sunni's are supporting, harbouring or at very least sympathetic to these suicide bombers and the "insurgency" in general. One should assume from the outset, that every Sunni garage or workshop is probably in some way connected with terror. The Sunni's never really "lost" the war in the sense that their will to fight was never broken. The Sunni's have just continued the war as an "insurgent" and suicide campaign.

Well that may well be your distorted view, but the Iraqis have a quite different view. It's not all Bush's and Blair's fault and they are quite appreciative of being freed from an oppressive killer dictator.

Did you miss the part where the Iraqis in January elected their own government and are forming their own country in the model of their view.

You have been watching too many CNN reports. Switch to FNC, get real news instead of propaganda.

...sigh

The locations can be found, Iraqis are turning in the terrorists daily. It's just that Iraq was awash in explosives. The last gasp of an insurgency is when the terrorist turn on the population. We have crossed that line.

Just this AM the Brits found 11 more bombs at the locations the London terrorist were living -- So it is difficult and will take some time to weed the terrorists out. The best way to do it now is for Iraq to continue to hit the markers laid down to form their new country -- The Iraqis appear to understand this and are proceeding to do so despite the attacks.

Only the Iraqis can stop these guys by turning them in.

They know who the Iranians, Syrians, Arabs etc. are among them.

Well, I never said the majority of Iraqi's were not happy to be rid of Saddam. I am quite sure the majority of Shiites and Kurds did approval of the coalition invasion of Iraq. That wasn't the point. I don't know how I could have been more clear.

The bulk of the SUNNI'S don't support the coalition. They do not want to give up their power and privilege. That is what I said. The Sunni's are the enemy in Iraq - period. They are the minority, but this minority has most of the wealth, education and military know how.

Further, I doubt seriously if the majority Shia will continue along watching scores of their fellow Shiites get blasted to bits day in and day out because the US led coalition won't crush the minority Sunni's who have opposed us from the beginning.

Perhaps you should reread my post.

I detest CNN, the BBC, ABC, NBC, CBS, and virtually all the MSM. This has nothing to do with where I get my news. It will be near impossible to pursue this nation building strategy with a half dozen suicide bombers striking every single day in Iraq. That is reality, and that was my point.

And they're probably living in fear if these animals even suspect they will "flip" and turn them in.

I fear you are right. This is beyond dreadful and even the strongest Iraqis must be weary to the bone.

A good read at the WSJ Online site for the interested.

It summarizes a lot of what is really going on in Iraq. At the bottom of the article is his website where Arthur Chrenkoff does periodic updates.

While civil war is the current goal of the terrorists, it is by no means assured it is going to happen -- As long as Shia cleric Sistani stays in charge, and cooler heads prevail. I think you will find that most Iraqis think the Iraqi government will deal with the terrorist in time. Plenty of Iraqi blogs out there to read and converse with the writers.
