In a line buried deep in his New York Times article, Wilson conceded, "I did not file a written report" on the African trip. Instead he theorizes that his findings would have bubbled up from oral briefings he gave to intelligence officials"

A fundamental question to this whole affair has not be addressed. Was this whole uranium buying deal classified? Did PinochiJoe's Op Ed piece release classified information?

Were real NOC's comprimised due to the release of the information?

I think you hit something very important. Not only has Wilson been proved a liar, did he leak or describe classified documents when he went on his rant about what he didn't find? I'm sure he had a confidentiality agreements before he went. Also, anyone who even visits the CIA headquarters or branch must sign an electronic form that indicates that anything seen or discussed will never leave the bldg except as permitted by legal authority and those who violate could be prosecuted. I think Wilson thought he was protected under the whistle blowers act but in reality he wasn't because the President never mentioned his non-findings just the findings of the Brits. I really think Wilson and Plame really screwed up and are going to be in some deep do-do.

I'll tell you another fundamental question that has not been addressed: What role did someone at the CIA have in all this?

The CIA was responsible (perhaps under prodding by press?)for filing a criminal complaint under the 1982 law. From everything available so far, it's pretty clear that Plame was merely on NOC status because noone bothered to change it. She was working at a desk and hadn't been involved in covert ops overseas for six years while she began the "mommy track."
