And the ones who should be screaming the absolute loudest

I'm screaming as loudly as most on here are. What else do you want me to do, get a tattoo on my forehead? And, don't tell me to "gather up with other Hispanics". Mainstream, conservative Hispanics don't join "hispanic" organizations. We shouldn't have to, because we thought we were thoroughly assimilated and that we wouldn't have to be defined by an issue like this but could take on the same issues as other Americans such as ending abortion or widget tariffs if we've "assimilated" ourselves into the widget industry. I'm not the one who opened the borders, and frankly, I DON'T IDENTIFY MYSELF WITH THESE ILLEGALS it's others who do.

My post wasn't an attack on you or anyone else. My point stands.. that if this occurred anywhere else, the reaction would be the same.

In many places far, far worse. So as long as I'm ranting, I will add that Americans are probably some of the most accepting people in the world. Yet we face constant little reminders of incidents like this, if you believed the press, you would think we are all ready to go out and start lynching.

So do you blame me one bit for being upset about that part of it?

I know a great many East Indians who have come here and ift right in. Japanese and Koreans as well. Seattle is downright overflowing with Filipinos. I could go on and on.

What, then, is making this particular issue seem so imflamatory?
