I'll weep from heartbreak the day someone asks me for my papers, and I fear it's coming soon. I'll weep from anger toward those who didn't secure the borders. I'll weep from resentment for those who flooded our country illegally. I'll weep for their own corrupt leaders who were unable to keep them in their countries. I'll weep for all my ancestors who fought (and died in some cases) for this nation when duty called. I'll weep from contempt for those who seemed to know an an American Schmidt from a German Schmidt during WWII but can't seem to tell that I'm an American as we suffer today's "invasion". I'll weep from bewilderment at those who'll try to tell me it's our own fault for not speaking out more strongly against "our kind" (even though I don't even know anyone in Mexico).
There was a time on FR when I never found the occasion to take umbrage, but I've found myself more and more tempted in recent months to hit the "abuse" button and it makes me sad because I know worse days in the "real world" are coming.
Those of you with honorable, truly patriotic intentions, please please please continue to pressure Washington into doing something. And, I'm not talking about a "guest-worker" program, either. I'm talking about keeping our nation sovereign and secure for ALL its citizens rather than continuing to foster an environment that is divisive in so many ways.

I wouldn't be to overly sensitive about being Hispanic.
Most, but not all of the posts I read on this forum is against the flaunting of federal law by the illegals and their enablers the ACLU and other radical groups and do-gooding liberals.
I support Americans of all colors and races.
I find here in El Paso that most of my Hispanic neighbors are really very conservative when it comes to family issues and more especially illegal immigration.
I also find that they are very patriotic flag flying types.
I think many times the line between the truth and racism gets blurred.
Blurred by the race card playing Jessie Jacksons and Al Sharptons of the world.
I have found that those who go around with a chip on their shoulder usually find someone who is more than willing to knock it off.

I'm getting my avatar's butt "chawed" all over this thread. See my posts #34, #131 and #132.
Seriously, we need to make sure that people understand the issues. The term "Anti-Hispanic" over the term "Anti-Illegal" scares the heck out of me. My wife, my children? They're are obviously Latino descent, with people in certain areas attacking "all Hispanics", I'm a little more than freaked out...I thought we were beyond that.
I will fight this tooth and nail.
I've never met someone as wonderful and peaceful as my wife. I can't imagine some idiot assuming she's illegal and giving her crap. I'd lose it, in grand form...
