I understand what you mean. What difference does it really make what the liars swear on? What good would it do for them to swear on a Bible in which they don't believe. I wouldn't trust them no matter what they swore on. Now, I'm not racist about this, but I won't take my chances when it comes to trust either.

That brings up an interesting question. What if a Christian requests to swear on a Koran? The court wouldn't be able to deny that request. Yet if it were me, I wouldn't feel any special obligation because of it.
Or what if someone asked to swear on a Star Wars novel?
