One thing that is an asset is that this affair is so convoluted that it gives most plebeian Americans a headache.

Nixon's impeachment was much easier, because a bunch of burglars in a DNC office is much easier to understand.

True....I've had a headache for two days now...I've either got a tumor or it's because of Wilson..

That is right. Average folks don't give a rats ass about this. Democrats have to turn up the volume if they expect to get anywhere. It is because they know that the general public is not paying attention right now, that they can lie all they want until they have something that the public will pay attention to.

This situation is not that complicated & could be broken down into a few sound bites that would sell it. "WH outted one of our spies to take revenge on her husband." Trying to correct the bad sell is what gets more complicated.

Nixon's impeachment was much easier, because a bunch of burglars in a DNC office is much easier to understand.

A whole lot of dynamics have changed since then.

1) It was before cable & before the net! The big three really were the big three & most people trusted them.

2) Agnew had already dirtied the administration.

3) Donks had the House, so the hearings were the real deal, government of record kinda thing. The donks were serious lawmakers, not shrill kooks trying to do or say anything to get back in power again.

4) Nixon lacked charm & believe me, that was important.
